your beloved pet's little quirks

My dog slaps himself, my horse backs people into the corner of his stable when he wants his back rubbed, my multi-coloured cat rolls down the stairs instead of walking and my ginger cat squeaks like a mouse rather than yowling like a cat.Oh and one of my goldfish does somersaults.
Charlie runs around growling - did I mention he's a cat:rotfl:0 -
i avoided this thread thinking it would make me sad! all my pets had quirks and all are now deceased.but i think it would make a nice memorial to them to remember them on here for their funny quirks (i know they wouldnt mind)
first shep - my border collie - like the invisible man - except for THAT smell and then he would look accusingly at my dad and slink out of room!
anni - my lovely staffy - oh gawd - where do i start - the dog was lovely but very eccentric - loved cucumber and i used it as training aid. she also confused sticks with branches! adored babies and i had to restrain her from climbing in strangers buggies to snuggle with their babies!
meggie - a springer spaniel it took us years to teach her to swim. the silly tart used to walk along pond bottom until she was underwater then i would have to jump in to rescue her! until she chased a dragonfly one day into the deep part of the pond - and realised she was swimming !!!!!!!!!!!!
nicki - my lovely temple cat - FIV - this cat was so gentle and mannerly - he loved incense and i used to light his favourite for him every day (frankinsense). every morning he would lay his forehead down for at least an hour (sort of pray to allah position) and every evening! oh and i am a reiki healer and gave him half hour every day - but - i couldnt give anyone else any healing while he was in room as he would take over!!!! my OH said tho that nickis paws were hotter than mine! so perhaps he was the better healer!0 -
thought I should share where Lily's new favourite place is. the bathroom!
she's absolutely fearless and takes great pleasure in playing with the water stream coming out of the tap! i've never known anything like it, my cats at home are absolutely terrified of water but she loves it. this morning she actually jumped into the bathtub when I was showering and got absolutely soaking wet!
it completely baffles me, but every time I go in there she follows me and jumps up onto the sink waiting for me to turn the tap on for her!trying to become a moneysaving student0 -

I love how she's looking at you like "What???????"
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
hahaha yeah I know, she had disappeared for at least an hour and I thought she'd gone under the bed again, then I checked the bathroom on the off chance i'd locked her in there and she was sat curled up asleep in the sink!trying to become a moneysaving student0

Benji likes the rain - strange dog! Jacko isn't that fussed; but it's a little too cold for him.
I may post it later; but they like to share chews. I have a photo of them doing this.
Jacko likes to watch animals on the TV and will bark at them. He also likes to throw his food around.
Benji likes giving me kisses and cuddles. (lovely, I know!)
If Jacko doesn't get his way with Benji, he'll nibble him. Benji's reaction? Pin him down.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Ollie the border collie has a bad temper ,not in a biting growling way he acts like a spoilt child when he does not get his own way , an example being if he wants a walk he will go and tip the table over if you ignore this he will then go and attempt to tip the water bowl over he will go to the door and bang the letter box over and over again ,there is no way that he will be ignored no matter how bad the weather only problem is if it is raining he takes one look outside and refuses to budge and then in about half an hour his temper tantrums begin again .0

oh lord i forgot to mention dusty the hamster (my youngest sons pet)!!! he used to regularly get out of his home (the plastic type that looks like a weird space station), out of sons room - past springer spaniel on landing (whose mission in life was to destroy all hamsters) into my bedroom (through a closed door) up onto bed - past cat sleeping on my feet (he was in no danger there - the cat liked him) onto my pillow then burrow into my hair to spend the rest of night! the first few times he did it i freaked and woke the neighbours, my kids and everyone except my OH!!!
dusty had one of those ball things - and son was letting him play on landing one evening when meggie (springer spaniel) went running upstairs - and played hamster football! culminating in nosing dusty down the stairs through the hall and into living room. when i rescued him the poor little guy was traumatise - he was shaking all over (i just sat and cuddled him til he recovered - but my son couldnt get him in the ball again).0 -

She's a headbutter too, she likes standing on top of the fridge when you're in the kitchen as it's perfect height, she leans over way too far trying to reach you, and when I'm in the sofa she'll walk along the back and nuzzle my head :smileyhea
If she wants stroking she sits looking at you purring, and sort of waves her paw at you, it looks like she's going to give you a good prod for some attention :rotfl:
She also flips over onto her back for belly rubs, she stretches one of her front legs out over her head and curls her paws up, looks like she's having a very dramatic stage death haha
Thought I'd share a pic too
Aww its great to read these stories!
Your Pepsi is beautiful Claire Bear! She is the splitting image of our old cat (RIP), that is quite spooky! _pale_ Our Pepsi had less white around her chin though having said that! Really lovely cat, she is very cute!
Our Pepsi used to love playing (even when she was 14), she loved to chase dd's toy cars along our laminate flooring!! Gem, our little food monster, lives for her tummy - as soon as we go in the kitchen she magically appears ever hopefull we will open some food for her (she is on a constant diet - we found her recently scoffing her way through a loaf of bread we left out!)

My dog likes to howl at certain songs as if she's singing, and for some reason the music at the end of home & away makes her do it too! Also she seems to fancy the churchill dog because whenever the advert comes on she cries!
And when we take her for a walk, if there's a big puddle instead of walking around it like a normal dog, she has to walk straight through the middle of it!
And sometimes she does this crazy thing where she runs round and round in circles whilst she's on the lead which makes me either get tangled up, or have to run round and round after her!
She loves raw carrot so when she hears me peeling something she comes running from where ever she was to see if I'm peeling a carrot, and then gets in my way until I give her some!
She does loads of nice things too, like if I'm ever upset, even if I'm not crying she knows and comes running up to me for a cuddle! And if my husband is ever winding me up, like pretending to hit me, she sticks up for me and growls at him.And when I get out of bed, she lays where I was laying before so I can't be lazy and get back into bed. (yeah she's spoilt and sleeps on the bed!)
Oh and the best thing is, she chases spiders and kills them for me!She tries to get flies too, but she can't fly to catch them for me.
I'm not as scared of them though!
And when I send her to the kitchen, usually for barking at dogs on TV, she stands looking at me giving me that cute doggy look until I let her back in!:Dogs and Cats are better than kids because they eat less, don't ask for money... and if they get pregnant, you can sell their children!0
