My 8 month old border collie has a 'sookie blanket'. When ever he is tired he lies down and sucks it till he falls asleep.
My year old Great Dane has a sucky too, usually her bed quilt, or our jumpers if she can get em.
    Big (really big!) baby!

  • Our year old staffie has a couple of toys - we call one "bad baby" and the other "good baby".

If she comes into the kitchen - she isn't allowed in if I'm cooking - I say to her "bad baby Saffy" - she runs and gets bad baby, brings it to the kitchen door and growls and shakes it to bits.

If you say "good baby Saffy" to her she will go and get good baby and just play with it or bring it to you - she never growls at it or shakes it.

She hates heavy rain, like today and won't set foot outside. However she jumps in the lake and will lie in the stream when we walk her.

She also rearranges her bedding by pushing and dragging it around. And lies with her head almost in the fire - a real hot dog.

She also does a fairly good meerkat impression when she's looking for squirrels in the trees.

And she's anybody's for a bit of home made rice pudding!

Our little adoptee tabby Cheeky Boy loves biting feet in the dead of night when your sleeping!! We all sleep now ever so slightly concious that if a foot happens to slip out the edge of the duvet our toes get shredded! He's such a funny boy that we can't help but love him to bits. He also takes a leap from our bed on to the curtains which are now full of small claw holes :)

He also loves baths, if he hears someone open the bathroom door he'll run in and jump in the bath waiting for someone to turn the taps.

My parents spaniel does this. I've gone in there several times to find muddy paw prints in the shower.

Every night I get a cup of fresh water and place it on the little table next to the bed, Maureen immediately has to sneak a drink from said cup while I clean my teeth in the bathroom!

Yet if I put her a bowl of water down she won't touch it!
    Flippin moggies.

I have juliette type balcony bars over the bottom half of my windows. The top of the window opens outwards, while the bottom half doesn't open at all. When it's warm and sunny my cat Teddy likes to jump out and lie down on the outside windowsill between the glass and the balcony bars. My other two are a bit younger and more timid, but have worked out that it's a really cool thing to do and the three of them beg for me to open the windows when it's nice out. I am sure people think I am just a tiny bit bonkers...

Edited to add...these are the upstairs windows, so quite a way up.

I have put a bar stool by the window beside the front door and there is always a little furry face there looking out at the postman, neighbours etc.

My 10 you ginger cat was anightmare when he was a kitten - the only cat I ever had who could not quite work out the litterbox.. his poo always ended up on the outside despite him being inside the litterbox while using it.....

Later on his favourite observation point was from the top of the kitchen cupboards, flat between the cupboard and the ceiling.

I got him from a pet shop, he must have been taken away from him mum too early as he was coming to bed with me and sucking on my ear... he still does it, at the age of 10 and I have learnt to put up with this.

He sleeps on top of my head (or my daughter's head, depending on the day) and the way he sleeps is like a pair of headphones - his back legs on one side of my head, his front legs on the other side of my head and his chin on my forehead.... and yes, he drolls sometimes....yes- got used to that too.

When I move in my sleep- he has to adjust himself to his favourite position again which obviously wakes me up....

But hey - a cat has to happy so.. yes, got used to all of this too....

Dogs have owners, cats have slaves....

My dog (2.5 ye GS girl) is quite normal though - she sometimes gets jelaus of the cat and comes on the bed with us. But that is ok, she is long haired so saves me on central heating bills ;-)

She turns belly up for her belly rub and I have one hand on the cat and one on the dog - with my sleeping arrangements... I do not need yoga classes :D

    Love them both to pieces.....

Some photos to bore you all to death.....:p

My favourite being the "caught in the act" - as you can see I have to fight those 2 to move over so I can get some space on my bed LOL

There's a cat in the house opposite who refuses to use the front door. I've sat and watched him sit there, watch his owner go into the house, and then climb up on the bay window until his owner goes upstairs, opens the bedroom window and lets him in that way.

Pernod who lives with my mum now has an internet obsession - he likes to sit on top of the PC monitor (flat screens thwarted him) and dangle his head and paws down to catch the mouse cursor. It's quite annoying trying to type with a cat head in the way.

Suki is, well, completely nuts and a spoilt little princess. She'll tap you on the nose on a morning to wake you up for attention, if that doesn't work you get a furry paw rammed up your left nostril. Because of her being an amputee - we call her tripod when she's not in earshot - and she looks sooooo annoyed if you count her legs and then point to the stump (yes we're cruel!). She also scratches behind her ear, then switches side and you can see her stump twitching like mad and her pulling the "awwww a good itch makes everything so much better" face - even though there's no leg there.

What else does she do? Oh she has to sleep in bed, between us, lying on her back, head on the pillow. You go to bed for a nice cuddle, get in there, and this black furry face pops up between the pair of you - every single time.

She also snores like a 20 stone man - this really dainty girlie cat - and the noise she makes is ridiculous!

Not the most photogenic of kitties - but she's a cutie in real life - everyone who meets her falls for her completely as she's just so completely unique and unlike any cat I've ever had - and I've always always always had cats in the house growing up. Sadly my mother's very fond of pointing out - she's beginning to get old (not showing it yet) and I'll be bereft whenever that time comes because she was my first "own" cat - got within a week of me getting a place of my own.
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!
