Our cockatiel Ollie likes to snuggle up on the computer mouse and go to sleep. This mouse is then his, and no one else is allowed to go near it. If you even try to go near it then you lose your fingers, lol.

He also clucks at men (not sure on this one??) and is in love with my boyfriend feet (he does the mating dance and everything, lol).
My parakeet always insists she gets a turn on my laptop! She stands on the keyboard, and the screen is black and shiny so she can see her reflection.

She is forever finding new "beds" for herself - latest one being IN a paper Primark bag full of stuff (pics at home)

She sleeps on my pillow curled round my head some nights

    Adore her.:o

  • my kitty thomasina who is 9 is rather strange, she loves it when any one is sitting on the toilet, it doesnt matter who you are, as she will barge the door open, then sit on your legs and purr so loudly. she does it too when we have strangers, who are not so impressed, we just pat her which makes her purr even more, think she has a toilet fetish, as thats the only time she purrs like that lol.

Ferrets are full of quirks! I can't list them all because it would fill a page...

They all hide food around the room and steal eachother's stashes.

Pixel loves going for walkies around the neighbourhood and meeting all the kids in the area. If they are brave enough to pick her up she will climb onto their shoulders and investigate their hair! She can get back from a walk that has exhausted me and still play for an hour.

Widget has figured out how to get into the dry food tub, and recently has discovered how to tip it on it's side so she does't have to jump into the opening at the top to get at the food. She will climb up my arm to get to my mug of tea or fruity treat, despite the fact that ferrets are obligate carnivores and fruit is bad for them!

Tetris loves boxes full of bubble wrap or newspaper. He spends ages making nests in them! He also loves going through the stretchy tube now that he has lost enough weight to fit through it, and will sit in it and wag his tail if another ferret approaches from the opposite direction.

Harry is a complete psycho - when he is in a nutty mood he bounces randomly around the room nipping everything he bumps into. The others avoid him when he is like that, and I have had a couple of painful ankle nips from him, though he is always sorry when I shout at him afterwards. He understands the difference between mummy's thin skin and other ferret's skin, which is tough enough to withstand his enthusiastic playful nips.

They all have a shoe/foot fetish, and often attack my fluffy slippers and/or try to steal them, even while they are being worn.

They are all spoiled rotten and I love them to pieces. Ferrets are not naturally cuddly critters, but these days when it is chilly I often have a ferret curled up on my lap or around my feet under my lap blanket!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!
  • babyshoes are they also obsessed with velcro?

My sister's ferrets used to go crazy if they found anything with velcro on, they'd try to drag whatever it was under the sofa, even if it was a huge sports bag!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • One of my cats (Schooch) favourites pastimes - for just now - is giving the vet the evil eye. She is in the vets from yesterday, until the weekend at the latest.

My cat missy thinks she is an acrobat, I will often come in and she is walking along the doorframe of climbing up the curtains! I've given up on trying to stop her because she looks so funny just hanging from the curtains with her legs dangling!

Coco is not so athletic his trick is to sit right on top of the keyboard when Im on the laptop, chasing the mouse around the screen & he also loves football! If its on the tv he sits in front of it chasing the players and the ball!

You've got to love their little quirks, I never realised before I had my own that cats could have such significant personalities

  • My dog womble, a sheltie, makes me laugh. in a morning he will sit in the bathroom until I open the shower door the he runs off into the back bedroom. he ignored me fir a whole day when the bedroom door was shut.

he waits with just his nose peeping over the top of the stairs on a night.

if he doesn't want to go in a certain direction on a walk, he will look that way, look in the direction he wants to go, look back at the 'wromng way' and literally turn his nose up!

Charlie & George hold each other down & chew each others heads & ears. Then if you catch them at it they relax the headllock & start washing the other:rolleyes:
  • We've only had Pepsi for a week but already we're discovering her little quirks :) She's a headbutter too, she likes standing on top of the fridge when you're in the kitchen as it's perfect height, she leans over way too far trying to reach you, and when I'm in the sofa she'll walk along the back and nuzzle my head :smileyhea

If she wants stroking she sits looking at you purring, and sort of waves her paw at you, it looks like she's going to give you a good prod for some attention :rotfl:

She also flips over onto her back for belly rubs, she stretches one of her front legs out over her head and curls her paws up, looks like she's having a very dramatic stage death haha

    Thought I'd share a pic too :)
