My younger dog brings me a bone or toy every morning without fail and places it on my pillow gently right next to my face so it's there when I wake :smileyhea
It's sweet, unless it's a particularly scraggy, smelly one, like that god awful crispy monkey toy she has!:rotfl:
Nice! I'm sometimes used as table for the dog to eat his chew on. Lovely!:rotfl:
My grandparents have 2 dogs - an 18 year old and a 6 month old. The 18 year deliberatly scratches at the door to get the 6 month old to go out, so she can have some peace and quiet.:rotfl:Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

My ridgeback who is 5 months is currently going NUTS barking and is really wound up by a snowman that the neighbours kids have constructed opposite. Daft girl!!
My last ridgeback used to have to sleep under a duvet - we'd fold it in half, he'd get in, leave his black nose peaking out and then we'd put the duvet down over the top - he'd stay like this all night. Hasten to add it was an old duvet and was cheaper than buying a dog bed. He had to be put down Christmas 2008 due to bone cancer
Current Ridgeback LOVES snow big time. She goes out and burrows in it and comes in with a white nose. She snores and she sits on the third step (her bum and back legs) with her front legs on the second step.
Apparently her Dad does this too! Must run in the family then!
Oh - my Dalmatian Lab x loves to smoke - if anyone comes over who smokes he sits in front of them and when they exhale he repeatedly snaps at it as if trying to bite it!
Oh goodness - Tali is off again!!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Furball 1 carries catnip pillows around the house by their 'scruff' while yollowing in a mournful lost sort of way. Only in the middle of the ruddy night though...
Furball 2 is usually never more than 3 feet from me at any time, sleeps under my chin, only drinks from the bathroom sink taps, and likes to go loopy through the banisters until she finishes upside down with her head stuck through and her tongue hanging out. Occassionally while lying on the floor she will also put her back legs over her shoulders and use her claws to cling to the carpet while yowling pathetically.
Furball 3 covers his eyes while sleeping, and has been known to poke us in the nose repeatedly if we oversleep. If he wants a treat, he sits very elegantly next to us then puts one paw delicately on a knee and taps a couple of times.
One of our chickens tears across the garden towards me, squats on my feet, makes a 'bok' noise and then runs away"carpe that diem"0 -
Loving reading all these - some of the wierd things my cats do, yours do as well!!
Both cats have just started 'hunting' gloves and hats from around the house - I usually open the bedroom door in the morning to find a couple of offerings outside. Sometimes they bring them up and yodel to let us know they've brought a present... which is a little annoying in the middle of the night :rotfl:
Our boy does circuits of the house at night, like a little patrol, and when satisfied will come and sit on us and stretch out as much as possible. He gets a bit anxious when you close doors (such as the bathroom door) and will usually burst in and supervise showers, sitting on the bathroom cabinet.
Our little girl has a 6th sense (or just understands the words "I'm just going to get up now and do so-and-so") and will immediately run to your lap, plonk herself down and arrange herself in a cute position - head upside down etc. Once you give in and stroke her, if you're not doing it enough then she will stretch out a paw and touch your face. Also burrows under the duvet and stretches out the paw as well - sometimes with claws tho :eek:0 -
Our Jack Russell hates the little green biscuits that come in her dry food mix. She carefully picks them out and lines them up at the side of her dish - just like a child, doesn't like greens!0

if my cat thinks its time for me to get up in a morning he scratches my headboard, but is brass and its like nails down a blackboard.............. so i have to get up.0

Ooo I love this thread!
Cookie - man of the house; snores, farts, burps and coughs like an old man. Cleans all the other cats too.
Molly - sleeps under the duvet with me, can open doors (first time it happened I went to bed, shut the door and thought I was being burgled at 4am), can jump ridiculously high but is really very clumsy and always lands without grace and she has a musical purr, kind of sounds a little like a reptile. Also when the poppy appeal was on the television and they released a load of petals, she searched furiously below the television trying to locate where they'd landed. She watches TV in the same sitting position as me.
Alfie - brings me actual presents: underwear from next doors line, sponges, wrapping ribbon and other cat collars. Always insists on being present whenever I use the toilet.
Darcy - manages to somehow sleep on me when I'm laying on my side - a true balancing act. He also greets all the other cats by headbutting them.
Tammy - always manages to sit exactly in front of the remote signal for the sky box, no matter what. Also wakes me up in the morning with a really hard headbutt to the face.
Aren't animals fabulous? I'm so lucky with my lotNever argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.0 -
