Thanks. I am managing to eat, but not much, and strangely it's some of the os routine that's keeping me going. People have told me not to bother about housework, but the way I work is second nature now, so it's easier to carry on.

It's going to be a long time before Paul's funeral, so if nobody minds or thinks me odd, I'd like to carry on the os, with probably the odd diversion into my currently chaotic personal life. Today I hoovered the downstairs rooms, managed to fit in most of the ironing before we ran out of clothes, did my own dishes and sorted and filed about 12 months paperwork (lazy I know, it was all in a big bag).

Tomorrow I will do the weekly shop - George still has to eat. People have offered, but I'd rather see to it myself. I do make a list, but half of it is in my head. I also need to make some cakes for George's packed lunches, (and sometimes he has one after breakfast if I think he's not full enough). Before anyone says OMG cake for breakfast, it is as well as his breakfast, not instead of, he is nearly five, weighs 2 stone 5lbs and I can see his ribs without him breathing in!

Take care all of you, and thank you once again

Jayne you don't owe anyone any explanations. Your instinct is to look after George and you must do that in whatever way helps you cope with Paul's death. No matter what you do no one has any right to mind or judge you. We all just wish we could make it better for you.
Paul would be very proud of you and the way you are coping I'm sure.

Brownies are George's favourite thing on the planet, and have been since he was two, but only if bought from Starbucks. A lot of my friends say he's been here before..... As he doesn't eat many sweets, on the rare occasions we pass a Starbucks, I'm usually happy to treat him.

oh Cranky - you truly are a wonderful and brave person - remember we're all here for you hon. Nothing wrongwith cake for breakfast - why only the other day I had a cream belgian bun AND 2 sausage rolls for breakfast and you most definitely can't see my ribs sticking out.
