Morning all :hello:
Cranky, still thinking about you and George
Going to my Best Friends tonight for tea, she always makes something nice  is it wrong to be looking forward to tea at 10am???
Pride of Britain awards tonight too so get the tissues at the ready
Really cold up in Newcastle today but the sun is shining :T0 -
:hello:Good morning!
Very overcast here today, but at least it seems to have stopped raining for now. I didn't wake up until 9.15, I'm definitely sleeping better since putting my Autumn-weight duvet on the other day. The summer one has been put away until Spring, unless we get really bitter weather.
I made mushroom goulash last night, but hadn't bought enough "ordinary" ones so used the whole pack of chestnut ones - it's really meant to be 500g ordinary ones and 150g chestnut ones - and it was ok but tasted a bit too mushroomy
We had our seasonal flu jabs y'day, so that's done.
Night nip over to Bluewater this morning as I need some zippy bags from Lakeland, though will try not to be tempted by anything else while we're in there. This afternoon I'm hoping to have a go at HFW's Jamaica ginger cake  though I can't imagine spreading it with butter as he suggestsI was thinking of making it in 2 smaller loaf tins rather than one large one, then DD could have a cake all to herself, but although my large loaf tin liners fit my big tin, the smaller ones which I bought on spec don't fit any of my smaller tins, and lining them is such a faff! Will see how I feel later on.

Just sneaking a post at work!!
Meeting at lunchtime so free lunch out for me! Not sure what's for tea but I have a huge pot of HG celery soup to ward off hunger pains!
Two loads of washing done and out on line. Heard on the radio there's a north/south divide with the weather so hopefully it will be dry when I get in.
Taking Mum and 16mth GD out this afternoon. Might have a walk round Waitrose & use the £5 voucher from the newspaper.
Well duty calls!
Hugs to everyone who needs one.
Special hugs to Jayne & little George. Hope you are OK today.

Off out in a mo to pick up a fire for Mum from Argos, and do some shopping for her, then back home to finish the washing off for MIL.
Must get some braising beef, its gone really cold so I think its time for a few nice SC stews
A friend has just gone, he's been having a bit of trouble with certain bank to do with a roof leak, top and bottom of it is the Bank Insurance said "It's due to the wrong sort of rain" can you believe it, needless to say he is a bit  and has gone to sort it out.

Hi everyone,
Just a quickie from me. Will be continuing with spare bedroom clearance ready for decorating tonight. Dinner will be cottage pie (left over mince from making enchiladas on Sunday, I wasn't too enamoured of the butternut squash in last night's risotto though I normally love it cooked in other ways. DH liked it, as did the dog who polished off most of my portion.
DD is handing in her notice at work today as she wants to go travelling and they won't give her a sabbatical. She's planning to go for 6 months, taking in Japan, Australia, NZ, Thailand and India. I know I'm going to hate it when she is away but she has worked so hard and saved a lot for it so she deserves it. She's going to Japan with a friend but the rest of the time will be travelling alone, luckily she has never met a stranger and has friends in all the places she will be visiting.
Sorry for OT but you can probably imagine it's on my mind.
Jayne, you're being very strong, I have been keeping you and George in my thoughts.
PPin Sorry you haven't been so well again, hope you feel a bit better soon.
Pink, I hope your DD is better as well - I don't know where she is at Uni but if I am close enought o be of any help let me know.0 -
I’m back in work after being off sick yesterday, I don’t feel particularly well today to be honest but have so much to do I don’t feel I can have a day off. I wish I could afford to work part time, there don’t seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done!
I have no idea what we’ll be having for dinner or anything, I probably wont get home until about 9pm and couldn’t think what to put in the slow cooker this morning which is a bit useless of me. I do know that I want to try get another 5 items of ironing done tonight, I’m trying to do a bit every day to get through it as there’s just so much and I can’t face doing it all at once. I’m mostly spending more time back on the OS board looking round as I need to get my life and my house back in order, everything feels very messy.
Still thinking about Jayne and George, I hope you’re getting all the support you need.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Afternoon peeps
sunny but cold here atm, looks beautiful outside though and the sun is streaming through the windows.
Feel horrible again today but i`m sure that in a couple of days i shall be over the worst, today was supposed to be my day off but i promised a colleague that i would work her shift for her as she has concert tickets and the person who originally agreed to help has let her down. I`m struggling to stay awake and am really congested, the headache and feeling wobbly is the worst bit though but i`m sure that i can drag myself through another shift.
Not much done today i`m afraid apart from the basics, washing machine and dishwasher sorted, DH was in charge of the bm last night and as a result we have a nice brick sitting in the kitchen :rotfl:
Houndies are walked and asleep and i`ve put the heating on a low setting on the thermostat as little oldie is beginning to get a little bit stiff as his joints arn`t too good, i`ve been covering him at night but it hasn`t seemed to help much so i resorted to the heating to keep the chill off.
Mrs Mix - Hope that today goes as well as can be expected
Cranky - ((((HUGS)))) for you and little George.
