Afternoon gang, Hope everyone is well and happy today.
Just a quick visit(will be back shortly)as I just waiting for my beautiful:A:Awashing machine :A:A to finish. Honestly I am totally utterly and very deeply in love with it. It may be sad(doesn't everybody sit on the floor watching their washer working?)
Thank you to lamewolf and Pen Pen shall be finally sorting my PMs this afternoon.
Tea last night was a cheese and onion pasta bake. Mark did it and used up loads of different cheeses.
There was loads so tonight's tea will be same again with some salad with some of our tomatoes and garlic bread.
Breakfast was porridge with some of our blackberries. Thanks Thriftlady for getting me into porridge (M is totally bemused at my newfound passion:rotfl:) Which brings me on to last nights dream -Thriftlady had moved in to our house as had another OS'e(don't know who it wasn't clear in the dream) and they were fighting over who was going to cook for us:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Was very sorry to wake up.
Anyway, washer:A just finished so will sort that and come back shortly.
Mrs Mix my thoughts are with you.
Jayne & George you are in my heart and my prayers.
See you later.
Have a great afternoon.

P.S. The weather here in "rainy" Manchester is beautiful!
Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Just been catching up on the last few days..
Jayne and George - can I add my condolences. what a horrible thing to happen to you. i can assure you the MOD are very supportive in these situations. My friend was a families officer for some years and has told some tales which bear this out.
Sunflower.. great news - Mrs Mehefin tried the cold cap but it didn't work for her - apparently it is a bit 'pot luck'. Hope your is more successful. As for working in between chemo .. go for it..you will feel better doing something in our experience.. and Mrs M said she wasn't going to let that B***y cancer beat her. As you may know from a previous post - it was successful and she has now been given the all clear.
No OS today -off to a nice restuarant locally with above friend for their 39th wedding anniversary.
Yummee.. although I suspect I'll end up paying0 -

Afternoon all
It's an okay day weather wise here, not sunny but not raining. I'm in work but this morning I had to go to our West Wales office to pick up my minibus which was on loan there. My colleague picked me up at 9 (he was going there anyways) and I had a mooch round at their office for half hour then drove back. It's a nice drive, about hour and half in my minibus which is limited to 62mph! I had the radio on and was quite content.Popped into a local primary school where my work teens will be helping to build a sensory garden in Nov on the way back to look at their plans.
OS wise, I washed dishes and cleaned kitchen this morning.
Going out for food tonight with a friends, Pizza Hut's Happy hour dealnot OS or heathy but hey!
Have a good day all

Hello everyone. ((((hugs))))) to all those who need them.... :grouphug:
anniestar-i must also confess to sitting on the floor watching my washing machine-i find it quite hypnotic and soothing.
Well, my mushroom soup yesterday was disgustingnot quite sure what i did wrong but it was grey and icky...
the tarte au chocolat turned out really well though :T:T:T the pastry wasn't fantastic so i might play about with that (i have a massive tub of cream that was on offer at tesco so...)
today i am going to make a quiche lorraine (the look on the butchers face yesterday when i asked for a single slice of bacon was priceless!) and another tarte au chocolat, or maybe i'll get a lemon and make tarte au citron...hmmm
I hope everyone has a good day...or at the very least a passable day.

OK , COOKBOOK ALERT!!! Mummysaver and Noah'sPM look away now;):D
The postman has bought me a new cookbook ( bless him- how does he know I like them?) Supper For A Song by Tamasin Day Lewis. Now, I'm not very keen on her on the telly or in the Amazon vid but I like her writing and she's on my wavelength foodwise. This book is not a budget cookbook, it most certainly isn't for folk trying desperately to make ends meet but it is for people who love good food and want to know how to get the most out of it, avoid waste and cook from their storecupboards.
Recipes I'm dying to try
Chicken Savoyarde (poached chicken with cream, white wine and gruyère)
Parmesan potato cake
white chocolate and raspberry truffles
chargrilled broccoli with romesco
autumn vegetable lasagne
chickpea masala
boston baked borlotti beans
grilled mackerel with green and black olive salsa
End of cookbook alert
Haven't done much beyond making a chocolate traybake for the kids, sewing on swimming badges and reading new cookbook;)0 -

I'm looking for inspiration for tonight's dins; I'm at a total loss for what to do, and Mr LW hasn't come up with a request as he often does.I have all the usual Quorn things in the freezer, the usual dry goods, eggs, also have onions carrots and spuds, but my hands are extremely painful, so preparing veg is going to be a real trial.
As I'm struggling so much today, I think OS will be confined to a little cleaning around with the jolly old Stardrops and white vinegar. Mr LW has kindly offered to do the tiles in the bathroom this evening, as it's difficult for me to get to the bit by the over-bath shower, even on a good day, He's such a good boy!:A
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today; especially Cranky. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW- How about jacket potatoes with a tin of beans (if you have them)- not too much prep for you to do...0

I've decided on a quick and easy tea for when I finally get home, we're going to have quesadillas (eek spelling!) with mexican rice, shouldn't take more than 20 minutes including prep. Next Wednesday I MUST put something in the SC before leaving the house so tea is ready when I get in. Mr.Lambanana can't cook but comes in handy for other things, his job is pairing the socks and putting them away as he gets home before me!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T
