Neither could I, in fact, I'm still waiting to be informed when it's being despatched.

Mine came today(Sunday) and it was possible to check 24 hours before, the actual time period they expect to deliver. They gave me 1630 - 2000 and it arrived at 1630 also had a phone call 30 mins before delivery !!
The delivery men said they work until 2200 hrs.

I haven't read through the whole thread (for obvious reasons) but if you want a decent specced laptop for £349 you won't go far wrong with this offering from Tesco Direct http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.204-6256.aspx

I bought one a couple of weeks ago for my OH and this is the fourth Acer in the family, we have not had a minutes problem with any of them. If you compare the spec with others at this price point it is an excellent deal. 2.2ghz Core 2 Duo processor, 2048 mb RAM (essential for Vista but many have half this) 160GB HD.

For those that have a problem with Acer, this is another deal I considered and is also a good spec for the money although it is a little more.

i have spotted a toshiba L300-11V for £349.00, which is just the sort of thing i'm looking for.
does anyone have one or a similar model?
    and is it any good?

Ive been looking at this model as well. Seems a really good machine. Also on offer at Dixons that for an extra £10 you can have a lexmark all in one printer scanner etc.
  • Does anyone know what the turnover period for dixons is? I ordered mine on friday and have nothing (but the confirmation email) since then. A rough Idea on when it will be delivered would be nice.

LOL you are probably so excited you can't wait for it. That's what I'm like when I order something new :j. It's only really been 2 working days.....I think it'll take Dixons more than that to deliver. You might get it tomorrow, but I am guessing.
