10past...that deal at tescos may suit you...not too bad spec-wise for your needs, couple of quid quidco cashback and some clubcard points :)
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

    Hi Jack :hello:

Cheers for that, just a couple of things if I may, I'm wondering if the prices will come down any further due to the "Current Sales" taking place right now, any opinion? if I can get it cheaper than £300.00 all the better for me :j

Also, does this site or this one have anything cheaper given what I'm after?

Oh, btw, I've never used quidco and I don't have a Tesco clubcard.

10past - effectively, you're looking at dixons/currys/pcworld refurbished machines there...looks like they've had some stocks in and you'll get a dual core processor with 2GB RAM for your £300...or if you can live with a slightly smaller screen, dual core with 1GB from £240...with the 12-month guarantee. I got my Advent lappy from pcworld as a refurb....absolutely fine, no bother, had it for 7 months no issues. Happy hunting :)

  • Hi all

Been keeping my eye on the prices of sony vaio's dual core for a time. Have just seen that tesco direct are doing a sony core 2 duo for 449

    http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.204-6446.aspx

not much more expensive than the sony vaio dual core's i've seen.

Can someone more techy than me please reassure me that this is a good deal???

    Many thanks
  • I have just looked on the dixons refurb list and they have tons of advent ones for £300, will I b ok with this or should I hold on for a toshiba one do you think?

I've just ordered one of these for DS2 (age 14) - the Advent 5301 recon. for £234.95 (hopefully get a few nectar points too). It seems OK for the money, and he'll mainly use it for MSN, surfing and a flight simulator game etc. We've been looking around for a couple of weeks, and decided on this one as we can't really afford to spend more.

I purchased the same item yesterday, and for the reason you gave.
