Hi folks
some would say I'm always in the twilight zone maybe thats why I fit in here
:
went and picked ds2 up from his pe placement and took him shopping with me dd had to read .find and add up everything as we went along so a bit of sneaky learning there
my feet got wet so I have now soaked them and changed the dressings, ds2 has to have his booster jab later so I will probably have to do them again unless its stoped raining
I am just waiting for ds2 to finish cleaning the cooker (bless him) so I can mess it all up by making cakes
pam xI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you
I am one of the English sexy Shelias
I'm also a hussy0 -
Re the feeling of being in the Twilight Zone - I think we're all a little hyper / giddy / overexcited today.... and not surprising with Cranky's sad news yesterday.
It makes one take stock, and want to hug one's nearest & dearest close to, doesn't it?0 -
Good lord I make one comment about OS content in a post (as I really don't think people should feel the need to apologise for the lack of it) and its gone all funny and a bit narky here
For the record I don't care whether or not people have heaps of OS stuff to talk about or not. I like the Daily thread as a place to share, care and have a giggle. MSE seems positively phobic about general chit chat....but I digress.
I can't decide whether to hang washing out. It is a really warm wind BUT it looks like it's going to chuck it down (and has been all day). I just know if I hang it out it will then start to rain
Have just made the kids a cottage pie out of beef leftovers - poor things will be sick of the stuff by tonight :rotfl:
BM is on so I had better go and do some housework. I wonder if I can rope DD into doing some dusting. Nothing like child labour is there

Afternoon all.
First and foremost, Cranky I am so very sorry for your loss. I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling. (((HUGS))) to you.
Diva sorry to hear that Tris isn't so good. And I totally agree with you that we should tell the special people in our lives that we love them far more often.
Well, I put the bath towels in to wash overnight, and today it's been tiddling down all day; so they're on the A-frame over the bath.
I haven't been able to do as much as I'd have liked today, but I do have some bread rolls rising in the airing cupboard as I type. Mr LW has requested egg fried rice for dins, so I'll have to have a ferret around for a recipe. I'm sure I have one somewhere.
Poor chap, I had to wake him at 03:00 to pour me a dose of Oramorph (my paws aren't steady enough to do it myself when they've been still for a couple of hours, as they stiffen up horribly). He didn't complain though.:A
I see that as from today, anyone who's 50 on or before 5 April 2010 can put an extra £1500 in their ISA. Dagnabbit, I'm 15 days too young! Mr LW qualifies, though.:o
As ever, ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all, hope everyone is as well as can be expected in the circumstances.
Thanks everyone for the kind comments re my "friendly encounter" in tesco. Had a page of replies but can't find them-sorry.:o
To the OS'er that phoned last night thank you so much. I was delighted and really touched by your call. Thank you.
Mark went out last night and got a new land line its ok and at least I can make calls again:rotfl:
Now most of you know that I am totally rubbish with technology and I know Donny Gal told me what to do:o:o but(sorry Donny) can anyone tell me how to move my PM's so I can keep them. (as usual I wrote how to do it and cant find it now(its in the "important paper mountain I guess):o
Diva thank you sweetheart. I will reply today. Honest.
Tired Mum all the love and best wishes in the world to you, your lovely family and in particular your beloved DS.
Am going to have to go back to the great car insurance hunt. I cannot believe just how expensive it is to insure a medium sized car for a 46year old man who has been driving for almost 21 years without even a parking ticket ever:mad::mad:
Tea will be
whatever. No idea didn't get much sleep and have to sort the insurance TODAY still I am fat enough to live happily on my (rather ample) reserves for the odd year or two.
As ever my prayers are with Jayne and sweet George.
Also Tris; Tapladys Lesley and everyone of our friendly supportive community that have worries, cares or illness touching their lives.here on OS.
Will be on later.
Take care and have a good day.
Ann XXXBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

AFternoon everyone
Cranky so glad to see you posting, glad as well your cyber friends are helping in even a small way, I was so shocked last night to see your news (((hugs))) for you and little one, completely understand about needing some time to yourself to get your head straight. Look after yourself.
It is indeed a strange day on this thread am late posting as really dont know where the time went this morning.
Have been to the farmers market & picked up some sausages & pork n apple burgers to have for dinner tonight, also picked up some corn on the cob for 30p each.
Have made stock with the lamb bone from sunday & will add some veg & the leftover lamb to it later to make probably more of a soup than a casserole. Will have some tomorrow for lunch & freeze the rest.
Have got some paperwork done but more to do, think will give myself another hour in the office then will attack the ironing pile.

We only have a medium Tescos or a medium large Sainsburys here that I can reach without having a car. WE also have a M&S.thriftlady wrote: »Celeriac is sometimes called celery root because it tastes like celery. Same family I think.
Fennel is in all of the big supermarkets. I'm surprised you can't find it.
Closest I got to finding some was this year there was an empty basket section in Sainsburys for some. Have always wanted to have a go again as I recall I loved it.
I fancy celeriac too. I always put a lot of celery salt in my soups and things so I think I will like the taste. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Anniestar, I would simply copy'n'paste each one to a Word document, and have a dedicated folder on the hard drive called " MSE PMs To Keep" or something similar. Now most of you know that I am totally rubbish with technology and I know Donny Gal told me what to do:o:o but(sorry Donny) can anyone tell me how to move my PM's so I can keep them.
