Haribo, I agree with you on the twilight zone thing. Yesterday posts were removed before I saw them, then talked about, so I had no idea what was going on.

Today there doesnt seem to be any posts removed, and I still don't get it - do you get a sense of a recurring theme here? :rotfl:

Have spent morning typing up appeal case (interspersed with browsing on internet of couse!). Four pages typed up so far, hopefully only another couple to go. How I am going to summarise it all when I present my case on Monday I do not know!

    (((((Jayne and George)))))

It's just me and the hoover here today, peeps. I got in at lunchtime from spinning group, had lunch and now there's no excuses left. I have to hoover. Two weeks since I last did it:eek: and I've been moving furniture. And we have a long haired cat. Wish me luck!

Bit of real OS here. At spinning group someone brought in their granny's spinning wheel to see if it was still in a usable condition. The lady herself was 70, so we roughly dated the wheel at 120 years old. And guess what? It still worked just fine, after a bit of oil and tweaking. I wonder how many of our home appliances will still be working in 120 years? Now all she has to do is to learn to spin!

Need to do a bit of freezer diving today to feed us as once I've got the %^&*$£ hoovering done I'm certainly not going to spend the rest of the day cooking. There's some sweet and sour base ecipe, so I'll dig out some chicken and make fried rice.

Floss2, I did not know who Neil Oliver was, so felt I had to go and Google for him after your post. Just a towel, you say? He'd catch his death here today!:D
    Val.

As long as she is happy and doesn't get hair in the bread I'd leave her to it - it's very OS not to waste heat!
Oh dear, here we go again.

    Afternoon all,

I think some people don't really know what to post in the aftermath of Jaynes awful news last night,I know a lot of what i usually say just seems so trivial compared to that,so maybe thats why the thread is a little odd today

Have been thinking about you both Jayne & George and hope you manage to get some sleep tonight.(((HUGS)))

More hugs to anyone else in need, and one for you Annie-how rude of that woman when you were trying to help her.
Diva-hope the docs sort out the meds for Tristan.

Well my day went a bit topsy turvy, received a pile of insults from ex - usually we get along okay, and not certain quite why I deserved it! After a lot of sniffly snuffles, which no doubt scared the shoppers in Lidl and Aldi - I apologise to you all wholeheartedly, when I arrived home and looked in the mirror I even scared myself, I finally decided to pull myself together! Honestly sometimes I deserve a good shake, why oh why do I let it upset me! OH wasn't much help, he was off to bed and barely able to string a sentence together as he was tired - he did say he'd pop into work and see me tonight, pah, much help that is either!

Spoke to ds's maths teacher, she is a lovely lady, and I think was relieved that I supported her in her campaign to get ds to do his homework/coursework! Good job she hadn't caught me a few mins earlier, she'd have thought I was a deranged banshee! Anyway all hw is on the school website, so he will be getting started on that tonight, have also texted him that he needs to go and speak to his maths teacher, so he will be fully aware that I know what he's been up to, or not so's to speak! Maths teacher is dd1's form tutor, apparently dd1 did very well this morn showing parents around, and came across as helpful and mature - at least she can do it when she wants I guess lol!

Now OS stuff, well I grabbed veg and fruit in Lidl and Aldi, and will be cooking and freezing some of it.

Lidl's current bargains: branston beans 4 pack £1, olive oil 750ml £1.99, icing sugar 59p, pilgrims choice 400g £1.99, caster sugar 1kg 89p, cos lettuce 49p, avocado 29p, loose red peppers 25p each, cucumber 45p.

    Aldi bargains: maris piper pots 2.5kg 59p, onions 1kg 29p, fusilli 2kg 99p, savoy/sweetheart cabbage 29p, broccoli 39p a lump!, cauli 39p each, clementines 1kg 69p.

Pasta was a real bargain, nearly got rammed in the back as it was just inside the doorway where everyone enters!

So now I really need to go and get cooking lots of cauli and broccoli cheese for the freezer, but may leave it till tomorrow as could also do with some sleep before work tonight! Other fresh veg will go in the fridge and will easily be eaten over the next few days!

Need to get some meal planning inspiration, was hoping my new books would arrive today, they're due, but not appeared yet, so still waiting in hope! Off to browse meal planning threads methinks - or perhaps I should just read through thrifty's old posts for inspiration, though that does seem just a tad stalkerish!

When we still had a great big ancient CRT telly that got quite hot when turned on, our cat used to lie sprawled out like a slug on top of it. He was a bit miffed when we finally bought a flat screen.
