We are meeting at 7:45 this evening, Dad said McDs as 'not much is open' which is absolute rubbish - this is Southend for goodness sake, nothing ever shuts! I think it may have been suggested to a) see whether I would argue, which would allow them to say lets not bother then, b) just be awkward, they know I hate it, or c) because it means it will be quick! Frankly, c) is the main reason I DIDN'T argue!

I'll have a coffee, and pick at some fries, and probably be back here with my friend by about 9pm, with the chinese I had hoped for in the first place!

Today I am meeting another friend, who works at the gym I used to go to. She is getting me a guest pass so I can train, then we are going for lunch, then I am having my first bikini wax in 18mths:eek::eek::eek:

After that, by the time I have got the bus back, headed to Primark to get a couple of bits and bobs, I will probably be able to meet the friend I am staying with from work, so the day will be nicely filled.

I'll check in tonight and let you all know how it goes...

MuckyD's!? :( well, at least they do a poor excuse for a garden salad so you can nibble a leaf and then dig into your packed lunch. You know the town, you could just be very polite and point out that as they don't cater for vegetarians, how about going a couple of doors down to xyz where you can all get a nice meal. They might assume that MacDonald's do a vege option - they used to. If you can move them to BK then you could at least have the option of a beanburger...

Sounds to me as if you're adjusting quite nicely. I have my legs crossed in sympathy...

Another friend came round last night. The 3 of us used to be absolutely inseperable, known as 'the girls' at church and 'triple trouble' at the pub:rolleyes:. They were he ones who travelled up to Norfolk just to see me for half an hour the day I had to leave, and I have always considered them more my family han my family are.

We talked, we laughed, we drank wine and ate pizza (nowhere near the quantity of wine we used to get through a few years ago!). Then we cried, and prayed, and sang together.

In one way and another we haveall been through so, so much in the last 2 or 3 years. One got married and had a baby and is very happy but struggling financially, one got married then seperated very soon after as he was hitting her, she is now waiting for the divorce and annulment and is finding things very hard still, not least because she so rarely talks about anything. She too, I have now discovered, is having financial trouble and is up to her eyes in debt. And then of course theres me. So much has changed, and yet our friendship is as solid as ever, and we all know that the others will always be there, even if not in the flesh. I love my girls and I know they love me.

Today its lunch (more food:eek: I will need to fast for a week when I get home!) with more good friends, then church, which will be very hard. My plan is to get there early and hide in the choir loft - I used to be a key member of the choir and have no problem whatsoever with them knowing I am there, but I just cannot face 100 looks and questions from everyone else, who I know would be lovely but I think might kill me with kindness. The day will finally end with doughnuts down on the seafront:D

Tomorrow is coffee with someone I was at school with when I was 12, and her baby, then lunch with a fab friend from church who is away this weekend. I will FINALLY get back to my frandlords at around midnight. I am shattered, emotionally more than physically, and will be glad to get back but am glad I came too. A hurdle crossed, and some ghosts laid to rest.

I'm glad you had such a good night with your friends and survived McD's! I think you have been and are continuing to be very brave - well done :T

I should shouldn't I? Sadly she is still at the 'it will be okay, I can manage point and doesn't seem to realise it won't get better unless she really works at it. I will keep trying...
