  • Hi

I thought i'd give this thread another small bump! Have been reading the whole thread and its great!! Some of your ideas are fab!! :j

I dont have little ones but i thought the hamper idea would be great for my family on Xmas Eve. I have Mum, Dad, Brother (20) and Sister (18). I mentioned the idea to my mum and said how i was thinking about doing hampers for xmas eve (as we still open a gift on xmas eve even now I'm 23!!) and she said that they would club together to make me one so i wasn't left out :D hehe!

Ideas so far include - bottle of their fave alcoholic beverage, novelty gift (sis wants a Morph desk buddy lol), New PJs, festive tea lights (more for mum really), sweets, biscuits and an item each thats relevant to their hobbies. . .

I'm going to start going round £ shops and Primark to get bits n bobs. I already have some stuff from the sales last year that i can use. Its been a tough year for us all so i thought this would be an extra special touch to our evening!
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    new beginnings...... new successes..

Well for the firat time ever im 'catering' for a little one (see my please help me make my neices christmas special' thread.

So far i have a lovely elf bear (me to you), elf dvd, a santa plase stop here door handle - make it kit and some festive rubber ducks. I have a number of little things to make an advent calendar also but for my eve hamper i also want to get some pj's, bubbles, cookies or biscuit mix and im not sure what else??

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  • Hi Pix,

I found your thread here : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2753862 and thought I'd post the link for others to look at :)

I don't know whether you've got it on your list and just haven't included it in your post, but what about a little mini mug with a sachet of hot chocolate and mini marshmallows?

One of those festive chocolate lollipops that I think you can pick up from most places (think M&S and Thorntons) could be a little extra to include as well?

    Hope this helps :)

Im loving this idea of a hamper for xmas eve - its going to help structure the day so nicely! I wanted to say that I bought an A4 'Santa stop here' sign at the Works today for 99p (with suckers for the window). So far I have managed to accumulate (for a nearly 4 yr old boy):

    New Pjs (Primark)
    The Polar Express DVD (amazon)
A sew your own bear purse (from Lloyds pharmacy sale)
A father xmas mug (from yellow moon)
    Chocolate coins
    Santa stop here (The Works)
Special personalised mince pie plate (from last year)
    Stocking (from last year)
Toothbrush (form my home toothbrush stock :D)
    New dressing gown (Bargain Crazy)
    Bath fizzer (Lush)

    Still to get:
    Reindeer dust (making my own)
    Popcorn
Personalised xmas story time to read at bedtime (Free to print off and laminate)
    Slipper socks

I will aslo write a poem to my son from Santas helpers to tell him what the hamper is for and that it will help him remember all the important jobs that need doing on xmas eve. Phew. Not much then

Can anyone point me in the direction of a large reusable plastic lidded box that I can use for my hamper (I want to store his train artatrack in it after xmas). Also, any tips for getting tartan ribbon cheap?
