Just a reminder that ordinary glitter can kill wildlife. You don't want to kill off Rudolf or the Christmas robin! Best to use edible glitter, or sugar sparkles, hundreds and thousands from the cake baking aisle.

My parents always got us a game which would be under the tree on boxing day morning. They continued this tradition until we left home.
  • Sorry to bump this thread from last year but it has some fab ideas and I'm planning ahead! Might be of use to others? :)
All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

  • Thanks for bumping! I'm doing christmas eve hampers for the first time this year and am very excited. I'm doing 3 (not all for us lol) so appreciate the inspiration!

so this will be good for ideas for those who post on there:D
  • I've been lurking on all the Christmas threads soaking up ideas, I'm just unbelievably rubbish at arty crafty stuff so I haven't posted :o I'd seen the comments about Christmas Eve hampers and remembered this thread from last year, managed to remember my password (haven't logged in on this site in months!) and trawled through paaaaages and paaaages to find it! Thank you for not minding me bumping, was a little nervous that people might be annoyed that I'd bumped such an old thread :o

Just want to add... You're all blinking fantastic with your makes and do's :T:T

    Awwwww, thank you! :grouphug:

I've been making lists this afternoon, shops to visit when the Christmas stock is out, writing recipes down, bookmarking various sites - I'm gonna make an effort this year - all we did last year was the Christmas Eve hamper and some [STRIKE]boring[/STRIKE] easy baking :D My DD is 7 this year so she's much more wanting to do things now so I'm planning planning planning! I'm such a Christmas nut cos we didn't have it when I was a child... (unfortunately not due to religious reasons :() So I want to make memories that last forever for my gorgeous girl!

Last year was my first year at making things and i was surprised at how easy some things could be. As Midnight said, start with pots of gold, they can't go wrong :D And i'd definitely recommend a sock monkey, your daughter will love these! I'm planning to do a cookie in a jar but have no clue so i'm off to find help, everyone here is lovely so whenever you're stuck, just ask :D
