Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has any new ideas for xmas eve hampers for the kids? I did one last year and had the normal night before stuff (pj's slipper socks, dressing gown, toothbrush, showergel etc) But i wanted to make this years different and unexpected. I'm already thinking of including a sock monkey but i'm stuck on anything else!
Thanks in advance

So far I have:
New pyjamas
Bubble bath sachet
Torches
2 x glowsticks
Reindeer food (need to make this)
2 Christmas story books
Night Before Christmas DVD
Popcorn
Oreo cookies (my boys LOVE these)
Will add a carrot for reindeer
Going to include a recipe for biscuits and a Christmas themed cutter so they can make biscuits for FC
We left the box out in the living room last year for the boys to find Xmas Eve morning. We said we didn't know how it had got there and they seemed to believe us
EDIT: I forgot, I have ordered 2 sock monkeys for them too, can't wait for the boys to see them x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Ohhh I love these - last year was the first year I made an Xmas eve hamper and the kids loved it - got us all in the mood for christmas and gave me some time out to relax with the kids instead of doing the million things I normally do!
This year I am getting the DVD 'Home Alone' for the hamper - my 3 have never seen it and it's a nice xmas movie...and the boys will appreciate all the funny parts in it.
Last year I also got a pack of 'decorate' your own cookies' which we all made to leave out for santa and rudolph.
That, along with new PJ's, colouring books/pencils, bath stuff , sweets for eating during the film and a christmas book was a nice surprise for them all.
Might put Rudolph's carrot in beside it all this year as well, lolCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I just ran down to matalan after seeing on here that they have a 75% off sale! I got my two youngest a poseable curious george (reduced to £2.50) my middle one i got LOADS of high school musical stationary sets (most were £6 reduced to £1.50) and i found some really nice slippers that were £6 reduced to £1.50, altho these were in the adult section lol. Thought they could all go in the xmas eve hamper!Man who run into airport turn-styles is going to Bangkok

I put snowman soup in ours along with new Christmassy mugs so we could enjoy a Christmas Eve hot chocolate together!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
-
I did one for little grandson last year and my son is going to re-fill the tub I used for reindeer food
I'm adding a pot of snowballs -coffee mate container turned into a snowman with marshmallows or some sort of white sweets inside and I'm also adding a little tiny flowerpot with birdseed inside and a little robin on top for 'robin';s christmas breakfast.
Wrote him a story last year and want to do the same this yearI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

we have a craft thing in ours....eldest will be making a Santa stop here sign & youngest will do some simple paper sticking.
then the usual: toothbrush, PJ's, lush bath bomb, a charlie & a lola mini face cloth, mug (reused from last year), hot chocolate, DVD, popcorn, some kind of chocolate, reindeer food.
I do like the glow stick idea.
we do them for everyone in the house (got my parents visiting this year so they will get one) & they arrive whilst we are eating lunch, then DD (will be 5 by Xmas) has to go & get something from the bedroom where she discovers them.0 -
just had a thought as I pressed enter. I may get my Dad to bring his laminator with him & we could have some paper in the Xmas hampers to make our own place mats!0

He could laminate a letter from santa tooMan who run into airport turn-styles is going to Bangkok
