I haven't heard of an Xmas Eve hamper before. I love the idea but think it might be too much as its my daughter's birthday on Christmas Eve. What do you think?

If you do an inexpensive one (primark pj's £4, Slipper socks £1, £1 mug from the £ shop, snowman soup, tooth brush and a small novelty shower gel (about 59p at superdrug)) and just spend a little bit less on a birthday present than you would have, she can have both :D

Hello my eldest dd's birthday is Christmas day but we usually give her pressies and have a birthday party on christmas eve dinnertime so it breaks it up for her a bit.

If your dd has her presents in the morning you could always give the eve hamper at tea time. Thats what i do with my children. :T

dh suggested starting a tradition of getting a new game for xmas eve every year too but cant think what?! ds will be almost 3 (on the 29th december) and dd will be 22months any ideas? they already have elefun and pop up pirate and im thinking something along these lines that we can all play together?
  • id be careful with them glowsticks, i bought some from tescos a couple of weeks ago for the kids to play with and one of them leaked as soon as it was bent - but you have to bend it to get the liquid to harden and glow. didnt bother with the rest so may have been a dodgy one - but wtach them all the same

2 great games for theis age are:
"who knows whose nose" http://www.elc.co.uk/toy/who-knows-whose-nose-game/ it is an ELC game where you pick a nose from the bag & put it on your correct animal. Great for taking turns & learning animals. DD got it last Xmas (she was 21 months then) & it has always been a hit. We also mix the animals & put a wrong nose on & make up a mixed name with our eldest (4).

FiFi stack a cake game. http://www.boots.com/en/Fifis-Stack-a-Cake-Game_123212/?CAWELAID=334511047&cm_mmc=Shopping%20Engines-_-Google%20Base-_---_-Fifis%20Stack%20a%20Cake%20Game
another great favourite with both my children.
  • thank you another couple of good games! why could i not find any?! lol

just tapped on the link to elc and its brought up jitterbugs and manic martians too! now i want all of them! lol i think the kids might be getting a couple of games wrapped up for xmas day too!
