    Good Morning Everyone!

I am very excited about joining this thread! It is such a lovely idea to start the xmas celebrations together as a family the day before. We always do something special on the day but I like the idea of it all coming from a hamper, my DD will love that (and so will I). Going to have a proper read through the thread later but thought I would say hello!

I am really struggling with the xmas eve hamper for OH and I!

The childrens are all done apart from snowman soup in DS's (DD doesn't like it!) and also reindeer food which needs to be done closer to the time.

I managed to pick up some beautiful mugs yesterday from the Disneystore, they weren't however very MSE but OH spotted them and said how lovely and unusual they were so I grabbed 1 each for us whilst there £5 ... I ordered some new totes slippers for OH (should have been £15 but got them for £10.17 from lloyds with a 33% discount voucher!) I need to buy me some new PJ's. I will probably buy him a mini whisky, and myself a mini baileys but then I draw a blank, I could buy us a DVD to watch but no idea what? and could add a couple of snacky type things so we can snuggle up and munch whilst watching the film but I just don't know!! I could also do with getting a nice throw, preferably black as we want to redecorate soon and he wants black!

Anyone have any suggestions for me please?? Have you done one for your OH? what did you put in it?

Oh, speaking of mugs.... I was in B&M today buying a Christmassy dinner plate for my little one to eat his dinner from (obviously) and they had tall mugs which were white and had silver snowflakes on them with reindeers and santas etc, so I got two for our hot chocolates (99p each!)

Home bargains had packs of xmas confetti for 12p each if anyone is looking for some.

I also got him a snuggle sack, spiderman one, for £6, instead of his fleecy blanket!

I don't have kids yet but this year we have my brother in law for christmas too instead of just the 2 of us and am looking forward to making little hampers, a nice real ale, some posh nuts and bits for the 2 favourite men in my life

I just got some great mugs from B&Ms as well as some socks to make our sock monkeys and some nice bubble bath. All of these will go in our hamper. Going to organise some snow man soup, reindeer droppings and reindeer food as well as santas kisses!

  • In my local Works store today they had large plastic bowls with snowmen and santa's on them for £1.99 I thought they would be good for the hampers to have popcorn in for the xmas movie, or could be used as a mixing bowl for the kids if they were doing any baking. Hope this helps someone.

I'm new to all this and will be doing a xmas eve gift for my granddaughter (aged 18 months) and also possibly by son and DIL too. Can someone please let me know what you put the pressies in (a stocking?) and do you wrap them?

This thread is fabarooney [ignoring the bah humbug person] I always give the kiddies a little present on Xmas Eve, mainly to calm them down, but this year I'm gonna do a Hamper and make it a bit more special [as a kid I always got a pressie on Xmas Eve] so carrying on the tradition but just changing it to suit my family
Thanks to everyone for the great ideas which I'm stealing

PS what is snowman soup please
