Another day of trying to sort stuff out for our holiday. I'm also trying to get 2 quilts finished off ready for an exhibition in November, and I'm seriously stressed about it.
Does anyone have any ideas for removing sticker residue? DS2 put his school jumper in the wash without removing the 3" square sticker that was on the front of it! I've picked quite a lot off, but there is still lots of little sticky bits left.
BargainBird - I don't know about a strait jacket, I will definitely need a gag he talks / sings constantly. Sedation was suggested, but the last time he had sedation (at the hospital) it didn't work. The dr gave up in the end and did his treatment without any sedation:eek:.
I made the river cottage pizzas over the weekend which were really nice, (except I managed to grate my knuckle as well as the cheese:mad:.) I also made some into garlic bread pizzas, the kids loved them! I've now borrowed the River Cottage Everyday book- I think I may put it on my Xmas list. Does anyone have the Bread handbook ? Is it any good?0 -
Pipkin my ds1 had to study Martin Luther King's I Have a Dream speech for English last term. We watched it on Youtube and I found it so moving I could hardly speak afterwards. They were studying oratory and ds was asked to look for repeated phrases and other things that I can't remember. They compared it to Obama's Yes we can speech.
Celyn and Diva I love Johnny Cash singing Hurt -what a voice, but boy, it isn't half depressing.
Mummysaver hope you enjoy the Mexican chorizo which is not my recipe but Hugh F-W's (there's a version in The River Cottage Meat Book by the way). I had an ides for using it in the lunchboxes. I thought I'd fry up crumbles of the chorizo till crisp, then sprinkle it on a pitta pizza. Will try that later this week.
Haribo your inbox in full -I want to send you a pm (a nice one of course:)) I thought of you when ds1 came home last night a bit hyper -he'd eaten a whole large packet of Haribo on the bus back from Wales:rolleyes::D
Hope Mr HJ has a good birthday, my dd gets a bit overexcited about our birthdays too- she seems to expect a party and balloons.
Very sorry to hear you are still getting hassled by such petty people.
I'm pleased with my grocery spend today, still have a few notes left in my purse this time. Nearly got sucked in by special offers 'ooh Rachel's coconut Greek yogurt on offer 2 for £3.50, I'll have some' in the trolley they went. Half way down the next aisle 'hang on Thriftlady, how thrifty is spending £3.50 on something I wasn't going to buy in order to save 28p? -not thrifty at all'. Back it went on the shelf along with the 2 for £3 Copella raspberry and apple juice.0 -
Well I've rearranged furniture to accomadate new sofa, had to lug the sofabed into spare room, and rearrange that too! Have put floor-drobe away, WM finished and bedding on balcony drying. I managed to put up a little washing line on balcony too :j Dishes are washed, I've hoovered once but will need to go over again once I've finished rearranging.
I'm just having a rest (on the new sofa) with a cuppa and the last but one slice of HM carrot cake
I've decided to start back on Slimming World tomorrow so I need to eat up all the 'bad' food in the house today
and prepare something for lunch at work this week, probably make a big pasta salad.
I'm popping out to Home Bargains and some other places after lunch, have seen some small tables there that may go well next to my sofa.

Hi Guys!
All back from the hospital for today:j:j:j
OH managed to get a reduced Finest Meal of Chicken Breast, parmasan (sp), Pancetta, roasted spuds and some other ingredients:D for £1. It serves 2, so we have a few veggies left from yesterday and having for lunch.
Treated myself to 2 pairs of PJ's from Primark. One has bright red monkeys all over and the other bright green frogs:p...I'm in hospital for a few days in a couple of weeks, so my consultants will have a good laugh anyway and theres plenty of room to be hooked up to drips etc. They were £4.50 which I thought was good and bought some chunky socks to match:D
Sausage cassarole all prepped and ready to go in oven with organic sausages (reduced), peppers, onions, peas, sweetcorn, baked beans & mix from Lidl (25p and excellent). Will be serving with big buttered baked spuds;)
Reverbe-Certain posters on MSE (not just OS BTW:o)get on my nerves too but I probably get on theirs also. I sort this by having them on my ignore list and its brilliant.
Anyway, I am knackered and need to rest up. Hugs to all.

DS is quite happy this morning when i called dont know when he is coming home as they are waiting for an appointment for CFCS so waiting for a call but will be going to see him tonight have spoken to education dept so hopefully things have started moving there it has been suggested that i go to the governers re the bullying but at the moment i am still too angry and i need to concentrate on DS not my anger.
PP sounds like a good day
Haribo hope you feel better now its a horrible thing bullying which is what it is very childish and spitefull
Beth lovely to see you back and glad to hear Dbros are doing ok

Hi all,I'm still washing stuff and decluttering ready to send to the charity shop. Its all on the line drying hopefully.DH cant start his next job until some doors are delivered in a day or so,so he can help me take it all.I currently have the contents of my top wardrobe spread all over the floor to sort so I can put summer stuff away and winter stuff out.
Tea will be the Spanish chicken I made yesterday, theres loads left, and probably enough liquid for the base of a soup too.DS2 will have a ys.steak and ale pie- I have to find alternatives for him when we have chicken/tomatoes,due to his allergies.
I was quite proud of them yesterday, they were both going to a mates house to watch the footie, and as there were 2 games on ,taking them to teatime, they decided to prepare some diced turkey in oil, herbs &spices ,popped it in a plastic bag so they could stir fry it when needed, instead of going to the chippy.Think their mate lives on chippy teas now he's got his own house.
I started to make a skirt yesterday afternoon,so hopefully can do some more of that later, its a fine cord fabric in a kind of deep pinky colour.Since I got my new sewing machine,I'm really enjoying being creative again.I used to make clothes years ago,but got out of the habit. The skirt I've got on today is one I got last year from a charity shop,Per Una still with tags on,lovely material but I wasnt keen on the waistline, too many pleats in the front (not kind to my tummy!)so I remade it,and its fine now-looks good with my boots which I've also fished out.
Anyway DH is back,so we can have our lunch now.
Beth, nice to hear from you, hope mum is ok,
and Almo.
MicheH,sounds like you are making a great start to OSiness, well done.

Maybe a short letter to make them aware of the bulying & that it has resulted in your DS being admitted to the CAMHS ward would suffice? Then if they want any more info they can come to you, by which time you may be able to spend a little time on it?
Am pleased to read that he's happy - that must be a relief to you all xx0
