Happy Birthday to Mr Haribo
So much for the nice day  its now pouring with rain, washing is on the airer.
Just had a [STRIKE]huge[/STRIKE] tiny slice of cakie for breakfast, I am almost convinced it must count as one of my 5 a day
Ok need to get on xx0 -
Morning all

Sorry to read some of you are having problems teens. I do hope it all settles down for you again (((HUGS))). My girls have their moments but all in all, they aren't that much of a problem. Mind you, they're not teenagers, yet!
How petty that someone feels the need to pm you the way they have HJ. Why bother? Do you think it's two people or one person with another ID? I too, hope you don't step away from MSE as I also like reading your posts.
Well, after a spurt of energy yesterday, I truly tired myself out and didn't do much more. Thankfully though, the kitchen was tidied up before bedtime, as I noticed this morning that we have mice again :mad::mad:
I really hate the things running round the house and need to look at ways of getting rid once and for all. I'm really considering the plug in deterents that omit a high pitched frequency. The thing that puts me off is, if they don't work, as they aren't cheap and I would need three.
I've started on my meal plans for this week, and need to think about doing a cupboard inventory as I'm hoping to get a big shop ordered for the weekend. I'm trying to get DDs to write things down when they run out, but they keep forgetting  and so I end up buying something we already have or forgetting stuff we need.
Work with DDs today will be looking at Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' speech, and the Emancipation Proclomation. I 've sorted worksheets so need to wake them up shortly. I'm having a quiet cup of tea first though
We need bread and milk today, but nothing major - oh, and eggs as DDs want to do some baking this afternoon.
Hope you all ave a good day and (((HUGS))) to those who need them. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
I really like the sofa and it is much nicer with the turquoise flowers.
Have made myself a pot of tea and decided to browse on here and put my feet up while I calm down. Need to go shopping later for cheese, milk, eggs and bread as we go through them quickly.
DH has been told the new kitchen units will arrive betweeen 8 and 12 today so is camped out with a flask of tea and some sandwiches.
Lovely and peaceful for a change.:D"This site is addictive!"

Hi all :hello:
I'm rather annoyed today as i was expecting my housing benefit to have gone into my bank account and it hasn't  which means i can't do grocery shopping today . I guess i'll leave it till tomorrow and if it hasn't gone through then go down to the council offices and ask what the heck is going on. I've never had this problem before (except when i forgot it was a bank holiday
)
Molly, I agree that your son is old enough to move out. As long as he isn't at uni he should be eligible for some housing benefit to help pay for a room in a shared house- it would help teach him some responsibility. Moving out when i was 18 was the best thing i ever did, and while money has been really tight at times it has improved my relationship with my parents no end.
Diva- I am watching harpers island....cannot wait to see the end!0 -
Morning all!
Cool and cloudy here today, dog had as much enthusiasm for me about a walk today, so didn't go far!
OS stuff so far involves more mushroom pate, think I now have enough supplies for the foreseeable future, and some lentil pate - made with hungarian style flavours as thought it'd be a change from garlic! Was going to make apple braids, but all out of bread flour - panic panic, will sort them out later though. WM on with some bedding and ironing done, well some of it, started early as got up with oh when he left for work, actually I was very nice and made him coffee before he went!
No great plans for the day, oh has the car, and he's taking it into the garage for me later, it needs new bushes and something done with the power steering fluid possibly? Fingers crossed that it won't be too expensive :-s
Other jobs to be done today involve hoovering, more washing, S&S the bathrooms, kitchen was done yesterday as it looked like a bombsite when I arrived home! Also need to make dinner for tonight, will be venison pie, as defrosted some and never used it for the barbie yesterday - though we did use up a huge leg of pork I'd defrosted, oh cut half into leg steaks and made a bbq marinade which the kids loved, half is ready to roast, slice and be refrozen, and another chunk was minced and is becoming thrifty's mexican chorizo as we speak (btw I managed to find both the hot and sweet smoked paprika in Mr T's - amazing as it's not that big, the shop I mean, not the spice pot!)
Lunch for kids: cheese and salad sarnies in hm seeded bread, last of the fairy cakes, apple, plums and yoghurt. For me and oh it'll be something quick and easy and quite possible soup from the freezer!
Dinner for kids: venison pie with stirfried cabbage and baby pots and parsnips, followed by apple braid (hopefully!)
Anyway, time for a cuppa and catch up now, have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Are you able to get to Gateshead later in the month? This exhibition is really informative...Story of The Supremes It was in Blackpool late last year, and has lots of good information & illustrations about the whole era & Martin Luther King.0 -

But I have the turquoise flowers not the red, and standard back. I'm buying it the MSE way of £10 a month for 4 years. I have the money aside for it in premium bonds so hopefully I'll will win part of cost back
The delivery men were really nice, and quick! Only took them 15mins to get it up and in.
