Diva - I love "hurt" too. I like the Johnny Cash version almost as much as the original - which is what is being sung by the guy in my avatar when I took the photo at Reading years ago *sighs dreamily*. I had tears streaming down my face when he'd finished singing. The video for the Johnny cash version always makes me cry too - without fail. He took the expletive out as well, and the song is better for it. I have the lyrics to this framed on my wall at home. I like his cover of One as well - that is way better than the original. I think it is because he sings the song as person who has had a real life, real emotions and real experiences, and you can hear that history and those feelings in his voice so clearly. Plus a "boy named sue" makes me crack with laughter everytime

OH is away and I am on a healthy eating drive. I even had breakfast that wasn't cookies
I found some sheep yoghurt in the greek deli yesterday, which I had with ground flax seeds, and so far I'm not feeling as if it is fighting my stomach, so all is good. I have a cup of rose tea too, which I bought back from Korea earlier in the year - it's really nice, and suprisingly strong for something that doesn't have any real tea in it.
I have salad and hallumi for lunch and tea will be mushroom omelette and salad.
If you see me eating cake, stop me! I put on a stone in weight when I wrote my thesis and it hasn't gone away, normally it does, but I think the drastic change in eating habits over the two months sort of stuck hard. I'm only short and it shows
So now I need to make an effort and stop eating cookies during the day because I don't stop to eat properly at work.
I started to deep clean the house. Why is it when you start to clean does it look worse than when you started :rotfl:
NPM - I read your post too fast the first time, I bet the cat would have had a great time at flamingoland though :rotfl: Hope you have a great day out
Molly and tru - hugs for both of you.
Welcome cuddlymarm and cat addict
Pink - last time I did an online shop I used asda and they were dreadful, the driver wanted to go home early so only unloaded half the stuff then went - so we were two boxes short - and that was no end of hassle to sort out! The previous time I used Ocodo as they came out much cheaper (using mysupermarket) and they were excellent. I have never had a problem with tesco either.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
(((Tru))) and (((Molly)))
I would be tempted to take a craft knife to the carpet, slice into bits and chuck it out. Let him sleep on bare floorboards!
My youngest appears to think it is somehow my fault that she slept in for twenty minutes and missed the school bus!
I put her bedroom light on at the time she asked and if at nearly 16 she has neither the sense to wake up, set an alarm for herself or just plain hurry up in the morning instead of preening in front of the damn mirror for half an hour ! - it is neither my fault or my problem!
Phoned DH who is 100 miles away at aunt's bungalow - our alarm went off at 4.45a.m.! Suggested to him we both present a united front tonight and explain the "babying" of her is obviously doing her no favours and has to stop.
Having a cup of coffee and trying to calm down. DD has not twigged yet that I am more of a problem to her self centred and selfish behaviour when I am calm than when I shout. When I shout, I feel bad later and make excuses for her.
Tea tonight will be shepherds pie from yesterday for oldest DD and for DH.
Youngest will have stuffed tortillas with bacon, onions, tomato and cheese as it is quick and easy.
If she turned her nose up it might just get "stuffed" literally!

Breakfast -leftover berry cobbler or toast today
I read this as leftover berry cobbler on toast today. Even more worrying, I thought to myself mmm, sounds good
.
Haribo they sound like idiotic, self obsessed blobs. I mean quite honestly, why does anyone care enough to harass someone over the internet (presumably whom they've never met)? ETA: not that I'm suggesting you're not worthy of stalking of course...
I very very rarely post here, but do read (yes, I am one of those who ups the 'read' count, which freaks some people out
). Just had to log in to post the above. Very little OS here, had a big tidy up at the weekend after doing the Melbourne Great Pursuit. For anyone who knows The Amazing Race, there is a company here in Melbourne which does charity versions, locally, and OH and I did one. We did bouldering, kick boxing, parkour and a whole host of other things. Lots of fun.
I'll be in the UK in 4 weeks and am very excited to meet my 2 week old niece. Also looking forward to doing some shopping, the exchange rate is working in my favour :T.
Off to strip a roast chicken and then slump back into my chair. Our clocks went forward on Sunday morning which meant effectively a 4am start today, which is too early for me! Off to bed soon I think

Hug to haribo as I just saw your post about p.ms and the "We hate Haribo!" club.
With only two members do they hold their meetings in a phone box?;)
You can't please everyone and today I can't seem to please anyone, even myself. Sigh!
Shall we both go and eat worms? (Old song)."This site is addictive!"

Morning all
My brand new sofa is coming today :j I've been in flat 7 weeks without one so I can't wait to cwtch up on it later with a book and blanket. That's provided the delivery men get it up 6 flights of stairs!!
It's coming within the hour which I'm glad about cos I will have rest of day to do stuff. Want to pop to Home Bargains, and need to go to Post Office. Also want to research New Zealand. I'm going there at Xmas to stay with a friend for 3 weeks
I wanted to do a skydive but it appears I may be a tad over the weight limit
I may be at it in time but it means sticking to Slimming World properly for next 11 weeks!! So I may look at alternative stuff to do.
OS wise it will just be a tidy round and put floor-drobe away. My parents adored my carrot cake yesterday
but complaing the portion was too small - they had half a loaf tin!
Have a good day

Hi,
Floss - Thankyou for your thoughts. Im very restricted in what I can do at the moment and I have tried getting him to clean it with bicarb and soapy water but its horrid:eek: Unfortunately its not the first time he has done this and he seems totally incapable (or too drunk) to get it in a bucket. I have one strategically placed by his bed. He does have problems with drink - we are trying to sort it he has a psychology assesssment this Friday as he has ADHD. I will have another go with the soapy water but am feeling inclined to buying a carpet cleaner as it would get used.
Thrift Lady - My two younger teens, particularly my youngest DS (13) is also lovely and is more reliable than his eldest bro (19) and sis (17). I dont know if its the nature/nurture debate again. I have tried so hard withmy two eldest and maybe thats the problem - i do/did too much for them. They also have a different father and I see his genetic influence in them. But im not making excuses for them. Their behaviour has to change.
Well I need to get up and go. Ive been reading some blogs and websites such as Tru's. Brilliant stuff!!!!
Love,
MollyI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Molly41 - I work with 16-25 year olds and often find that you got to be cruel to be kind. I don't know your personal circumstances but could you not get your 19 yo to move out? he is old enough to look after himself, and believe you me he will soon get fed up of cleaning up his own sick in his own place, or his flatmates will put him straight! most of the teens I work with who've moved out on their own turn out to be great people who patch things up with family once they've had a bit of space to learn about themselves and to mature.

My sofa has come!! It's so pretty. It's this one:
http://www.scs.co.uk/product.php?id=1090
But I have the turquoise flowers not the red, and standard back. I'm buying it the MSE way of £10 a month for 4 years. I have the money aside for it in premium bonds so hopefully I'll will win part of cost back
The delivery men were really nice, and quick! Only took them 15mins to get it up and in.
