Anniestar - nice to see you back again, what a mardy old so and so that woman was - still you can lead a horse to water and all that! One of my friends is constantly moaning about being broke at the mo, but she also buys exactly the same stuff each week for her shopping and bins whatever she didn't use the week before (well she used to, now she just empties the fridge into carrier bags and gives it to me!), I've tried to persuade her to use her leftovers or mealplan, but apparently only poor people do this!!!!! I too love the Dairy Cookbook, you can often find them in charity shops - worth a look anyway.
btw, stew was lovely, just going to have a cuppa and a hobnob now!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Annie what a horrible woman. Don't let such an ungrateful !!!!! get you down. You were being a very lovely helpful person there and I am only sorry that she did not appreciate that.Don't let her spoil another minute of your day. Have a huge hug and a mug of something hot and warming.(((((((()))))))))))))
We had a girl like that at my last workplace. She would always ask you for help and suggestions but wouldnt listen to a word you said and slapped every suggestion and idea down even though she was in her early 20s and was asking older people who had actually lived life.
Hope you manage to find a copy of your book.xxWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

Not getting very far today as OH is off and keeps distracting me.
We've clipped the chickens wings and if anyone wants some photos of them and the truly amazing run my OH built :A please pm me your email address. I've emptied my box.
Am trying to get some cleaning done before I attempt the choux pastry _pale_. Haven't made them for years so I'm a bit rusty.
Aussie where art thou?
Pink, Mr Haribo is very grateful for his birthday call.
Haribo x

Then........ last night settled myself down to have a gab with an OS'er only to find said phone broken beyond repair- the curly wire had been bitten through(Fergal we think as he has "form")
I thought you'd changed your mind :rotfl:
haribo don't let it get to you, I love reading your posts. Happy Birthday to Mr H too.
I've been swimming this morning, and then trundled off to Sainsbugs to get some black food colouring to make hallowee'n biscuits with (for painting cobwebs on them).
I also went to Boots, and used some of my points to treat myself to a posh bottle of bubble bath. I'm having a "me " week too this week.
Take care all of you, and special hugs to everyone with horrible teenagers. My cousins were all a nightmare, but they turned human again in their early 20s.0 -
Ann, I was sure that I had that cookbook and I would have sent it (or brought it over) to you but unfortunately mine is the Dairy Book of Home Management. It's very old and very tired, but if it's any use to you let me know. Step mum has the cookbook but I don't think she'd be terribly impressed if I swiped it.

            Afternoon all.
Happy Birthday Mr Haribo.
As ever on Mondays, I'm having an easy day, after as much OS-ing as I could manage all weekend.
I sent Mr LW to the farmers market on his own yesterday (OK, I'll own up, I couldn't face all those people) but I did use the time he was out to good effect making coconut & cherry buns, cheese tomato & Quorn quiche, treacle tart (1st time I've ever made this) and a small mincemeat turnover with the leftover pastry.
We went into Newport Pagnell on Saturday, and were surprised to find the widow of an old friend (the one who introduced us!!) working in the local hospice shop. So we had a natter, and bought some incense sticks and a scented candle because it'd have been rude to leave without purchasing anything.:D
Postie brought us Terry Pratchett's latest book (from Amazon) this morning, so we'll start that as soon as we've finished Philip Pullman's "The Amber Spyglass" which we're nearly at the end of. I should probably clarify - we read aloud to each other in bed. And I don't care that it's weird!:D
Pen-Pin your new PJs sound jolly - hopefully they'll cheer up your stay in the hossy. We've agreed that if ever I have to go in, we'll resurrect the ones Mr LW still has stashed in the loft from before I came to live here, and I'll borrow some of those. MSE or what??:D
Anniestar don't let the ungrateful baggage get you down!
Mr LW is w*rking late tonight, so don't know what time he'll be in - but we have the 2nd half of the quiche for dins; right now, it's about time I checked on the washing that's been on the line since this morning.
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

I think that's rather nice...OH & I often read out snippets from our book to the other if we have a funny bit

HARIBO, It's full again. What's it like to be popular??

ANNIESTAR, I hope you can some satisfaction every time you chat to your friends on here knowing she will never have the pleasure. Bless you, you are so lovely and friendly, you don't deserve such treatment. ((((((((hugs)))))))))) :A
SUNFLOWER, I haven't 'met' you before but can understand how you are feeling. My DF is going through the same treatment for the 3rd time. She got a very good wig on the NHS. She got some headwear from urbanturban, not cheap but as they say 'your worth it'. Wishing you well.
TIREDMUM, (((((((((hugs)))))))))) for you and DS.
PINK, We did the same with DD1's bedroom door. She let her BF in through the window so we screwed it shut. I didn't care that she was 17 at the time. She wasn't gonna do it in my house.
SMOKY, I'm sure I read somewhere that lager was a good cure for a cold.
( mmmm, it may have been in my diary )
Phoned the Hosp, my Mum is being discharged this evening along with loads of pills and a spray to be used under the tongue. :T0
