If you're anywhere near Warrington or Shrewsbury, there's a QVC outlet in both towns. I'm in London, but have arranged weekend getaways just to visit these outlet shops. Cheap Travelodge, take in some Home Bargains on the way & a few craft shops...fab weekend away. :D

I've never heard of the outlets either - are they good? in terms of stock and prices I mean? I live about half way beyween both so a visit could be on the cards :)
    Stop looking for answers....

They can be amazing. Don't think I've ever come away empty handed. Had clothes there for 99p before, gorgeous cheap jewellery & my friend loves the craft stuff.

not sure if this in the right place (pls feel free to move if not)

Cinderella Shoes are having a sale - if any of us have any pennies left :)

    http://www.cinderellashoes.ie/categories/Special-Offers/

they stock large size shoes up to UK sz12 & some wider fittings, based in Ireland and you can pay with paypal. Some lovely un-frumpy styles and the prices are ok (ish)

    thought it might help someone

ooops, I've seen some of the non-sale prices... maybe for a very special occasion, otherwise:eek:

Thanks for all the suggestions so far - I'm going to have to go and try things on - cannot buy online without trying some first. Ive been googling australia photos to see wha tthey wear, and its often longish quite smart dress, and possible jacket. I want to hide top of arms, so if I get sleeveless, would get a sheer throw maybe.

Has anyone got any suggestions for best "undergarments" spanx etc. I'm size 22 and pear shaped - bust 38E and heavy on bottom and thighs - sob.If only I'd had more time to drop a little weight.

On Gok Wan, he often puts them in a corset and long pants, with own bra underneath. Do you think this would be a good idea for me, as I know it can transform how you look a bit.

I've got the long pants but don't often wear them. Also it will be 35/40 degrees in Perth then, so I won't feel very comfortable, but may make me feel better? thanks for any more ideas
Hi, How Exciting to be going to the other side of the world. I would head to Marks and Spencers, A large one with lots of underwear, Go for Big Cotton Knickers with some light control, they have lots but best to go feel them, I got some light control without seams and love them(seams irritate). For Arm coverage that keeps you cool... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-WINGZ-COVER-UP-SHRUG-SIZE-16-20-BLACK-FLARE-SLEEVE-/260715496377?pt=Women_s_Clothing&hash=item3cb3dac3b9 They are Brill! For dresses I would head down to a Monsoon Outlet, you can find out on their website where they based. Above all make sure you are comfortable! You do not want to be a fidgety, red pom! x All the bestx:cool:

Hi Check these out if they had been a 10 I would have snaffled them! http://www.cinderellashoes.ie/products/Claudia.html Sexy Boots and I think (best check) but I think they will be under the tax allowance, so duty wil be very little to UK. If anyone does buy them, contact the store via email and ensure they write the sale price / price paid on their forms, otherwise you could get stung for the higher fees and then have to claim it back! xxxx

Hello,Need a spot of help please!

Going to a fancy dress murder mystery at a friends and I really need an outfit. My character is a failing actress amd girlfriend of a gansger and its set in the 1960s. The costume suggestion is frothy pink and plastic with bubbly hair, but I can vary this if I want.

Problem is at size 22 and slightly under 6 foot (buying trousers is a nightmare) what the hell will I wear??!! Please help if you can as everyone else is really getting into their character!

    Thanks a lot, Liz xx

I've already posted here about sons imminent wedding in Australia, and thanks for all the advice when I asked about maxi dress. Well I've tried many dresses and have come to conclusion I'm wrong shape for dresses. I'm pear shape top 18 bottom 20/22 mid 50s so what fits top is miles too tight on bottom half. And I'm just not comfortable in a dress (plus my upper arms are not good), even with a jacket or bolero.

It's an outside do quite casual and probably really hot.

I was wondering about cream or other summery colour wide trousers in soft drapey fabric and longish line soft jacket with heels, or lacey edge to edge jacket, very llight fabric, over pretty camisole? Budget hoping under £100 ish if poss.

Any advice please as I've searched everywhere and can hardly find anything like that. It wuold suit me I think and I'd wear it again.

I think because the winter sales are on, a lot of the spring stuff isn't around yet, but i go in three weeks!! and I'm panicking.

If anyone has seen anything in their travels I'd be very grateful.
  • I don't know whereabouts you are in suffolk sunflowersuffolk, I live in Ipswich and the nearest shop to me is in Felixstowe, but had you ever thought about going to Yours clothing? they do online too, I bought a lovely Maxi dress from there earlier on in the week, kinda fitted over the bust and flowed and skimmed everything else...I too am like you and am a 20 top, 24 bottom so bigger on the rear end- and these dresses seem to hide a multitude of sins! I had noticed that they also had a fair few "drapey things" in the sale in lighter colours too...approximate costings being about £15 for the dress, they have some lovely cardis and shrugs at approx £7-10 and I believe the trousers and drapey cardis/tops etc can be anywhere in £5-18 kinda range.
I'm sorry if this has been posted before but did not have time to read all thread, but they certainly did have some nice stuff that can be turned up to a "summer wedding" in!

    Hth
    xx
  • Hi Katy thanks for replying - I live near Saxmundham and was in Ipswich today, so yes I could try Yours in Felixstowe (or Lowestoft or Gt Yarmouth) but would really like trousers and light jacket/top in cool fabric. I may pay Yours a visit to have a try on. Thanks again.x
