  • On the subject of Yours - I mentioned a few posts back a couple of maxi dresses I bought from them recently which I was and still am really pleased with. However, I went into the Yours in Cambridge a couple of weekends ago and was really unimpressed by the quality of most things in the shop. Even the maxi dresses varied greatly - some were lovely like mine, and others felt horrible to touch and looked really cheap and badly made. Guess they have the golden touch with some items, and not so with others?

I think they have them mainly in the north of England, not that many, not like Evans.

  • Anyone planning to order from La Redoute please note that they are having terrible difficulties with processing orders at the moment.

I placed one 12 days ago and it still has not been processed with no communication from LR.
I sent an email two days ago and did not get a response.
I phoned today and waited 20min to speak to someone (make sure you use the Say No To number if you pay for 0845 Nos).
Then they simply told me there is a software issue and they cannot cope with orders right now.
They will get it done asap (i.e. at some point in the future but not sure when).
They answer emails within 5 days and my complaint will eventually get a response.
The operator was polite but could not care less or help in any way.

I also tried to take advantage of a special time-limited discount online a couple of days ago and the order would not get through checkout.
So you can't place orders, if you can then they don't get processed, and you won't get any help from customer service.

I would recommend that people AVOID them right now until they have sorted themselves out!

Re La Redoute I have found them to be quite hopeless in the past, nil communication, account difficult to access, a lot of stuff goes out of stock before it's despatched & the so called free gifts never materialised. I persevered & did order several times but gave up after being messed about.
What you are reporting seemed to be par for the course tbh. & it's such a shame as there stuff does seem nice.
Oh sizing for kids clothes is teeny too. I would not recommend them I'm afraid.
    Booo!!!

    Oh what a pity...
thinking about it, the operator's attitude makes sense if she knew that's how things are and nothing will get done...
  • I've checked the Next sale, hardly anything for us big babes! 5 items that's it.

Not a big loss for me to be honest. I haven't shopped at Next for ages, but when I did I found their quality rubbish, did not feel nice, did not last.

On the other hand I've just been at Matalan, after I had not been for years, and found their quality much improved.
Last time I had a quick look at R&R, found them ugly and of poor quality, but this time I was really impressed. Much better than a lot of more expensive brands.
Obviously they have a lot of man-made fibres, but overall a big thumb up!
(and if you shop online there is a 10% discount code going at the moment as well).

    .

And not very nice ones at that!

I'm buying a lot of new Next stuff from ebay just now, I know it's generally previous season, but that really doesn't bother me. I've just had a fab BNWT cocktail dress delivered today for the work's xmas do, for £20 inc delivery!:)
