Thank you for this Laura, really interesting!

It really does not make sense, first of all because they'll be competing with their own Evans.
Also sizing is a bit silly, 14 is too low a starting point (who'd want to buy clothes from a plus size store if they are a size 14?), and 26 too low for a proper plus size store. Neither 'missy' size (US term for non-plus sizes, just found out...), nor proper plus size.

Unless I'm totally missing the point...

(also the models are all very slim, at least Evans uses big gals, and Beth Ditto!)

I just took a look at this site and it is the same stock as Evans. Nicer website and free delivery though.

Seems weird selling the same stuff but not the full range of sizes Evans sell.

Shame as I was all excited at buying a new brand.
  • Anyone planning to order from La Redoute please note that they are having terrible difficulties with processing orders at the moment.

I placed one 12 days ago and it still has not been processed with no communication from LR.
I sent an email two days ago and did not get a response.
I phoned today and waited 20min to speak to someone (make sure you use the Say No To number if you pay for 0845 Nos).
Then they simply told me there is a software issue and they cannot cope with orders right now.
They will get it done asap (i.e. at some point in the future but not sure when).
They answer emails within 5 days and my complaint will eventually get a response.
The operator was polite but could not care less or help in any way.

I also tried to take advantage of a special time-limited discount online a couple of days ago and the order would not get through checkout.
So you can't place orders, if you can then they don't get processed, and you won't get any help from customer service.

I would recommend that people AVOID them right now until they have sorted themselves out!

..got a partial reply after a week, they lost my order, although it shows on my account they can't find it... At least they had not taken the money.
  • Just had an email from Yours Clothing there is a further 50% off sale prices, used topcashback for 10% and a further £2.00 code which I will put on discount thread

Does anyone have any advice on sizing and fit? I normally shop at Evans, but I've pretty much decided to avoid them except on Ebay and occasional sales. I'm too fed up with their quality compared to their prices. I'm happy to pay for good quality, but Evans clothes seem to be less and less well made (and less flattering!) with every season that goes by.

I've bought some tops from Anne Harvey on ebay, and I think they seem to be slightly more generously sized compared to Evans. Or, more accurately, I think they're cut in a way that's easier for size 24/26+ to wear - they don't seem to bunch up or gape awkwardly and they're generally a better shape. But maybe that's just me!

I'm thinking of buying two nice coats from Ulla Popken for autumn/winter. According to their size chart, I'm a full size smaller than I would be with Evans. Seems a little over optimistic to me! :p Anyone else had that experience?

ETA: I also wrote a quick email to style369.com to ask why they carry Evans stock with a more limited size range and thinner models. I'll be interested to hear what they have to say!

Well done for emailing them. Please let us know what the say!

AH think we are all well endowed, particularly in the upper areas.... while Simply Be have decided that we are all actually a size bigger than we think we are.. lol lol

When I purchased from UP I've been the same size as Evans etc, only with Simply Be I take the next size up.

I've tried to post some size charts but they don't work here, but AH is definitely bigger.
  • Funny how different people fit clothes differently! I've always found Simply Be's clothing really generous in terms of sizing...not so keen on their prices sometimes so only ever order with discount codes!

    Hi
Sorry if this has been asked before, but can anyone point me in the direction of plus sized opaque tights.

I use to buy them in M&S but they seem a little short.

I'm looking for black in 40 denier and above.

    Thanks
