Large Plus Size Clothing

I have not yet received any request for VAT or handling for any of the Holy Clothing purchases I've made, (and there have been several now). Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have restricted myself to 2 or 3 items per purchase, and thus not exceeded the threshold for import duty.
As for buying from a reseller, well why on earth would I pay someone else extra when I can buy exactly what I want myself, direct from HC, for less money?
The FedEx shipping from HC is amazing, 3 or 4 days and you can be wearing your stuff!
Just got a bill for a purchase made on 5/8, the total was £51, now with a wapping £13 on top, 10 of which are Fedex own fees.
I won't be buying from them again!
(although not as bad as the £200 someone mentioned a while back, for a 1647 order)0 -

I shouldn't have spoken so soon ....
I received two bills from Fed Ex today, for 2 orders placed in early August, both in the region of £13 - comprising of £10 Fed Ex handling charge and £3 odd VAT. No import duty though, as the orders were both for less than £135.
I wonder if they do all the billing at the end of the month?
I still think the HC orders I placed represent good value though, and will continue to order from them. I've had numerous compliments on the clothes.
In my experience, all couriers, including Parcel Force, charge this handling fee for expediting the goods through customs, and it seems fair enough to me. As I say, 4 days trackable express shipping from India is going some. (I have waited longer and paid a heck of a lot more in excess charges for goods from the USA).
It looks like the package which came with free shipping via the 'normal' post has escaped charges though. (fingers crossed!).Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -

Sorry to hear you have been 'caught'.
Well I had a second order, but like yours went through normail mail (taking advantage of the same offers aren't we), and I heard that Royal Mail are less 'efficient' at picking thigs up and you are less likely to be charged. But they will not release your goods until you've paid.
I expect prices are still not too bad after all...0 -

Yes, I think so! heheh!
(I'm off on holiday soon, so have been collecting some nice summery things from the 'Deals' sectionThose recent discount codes have been very useful ...)
Think for future orders I will opt for the slower shipping (which wasn't actually as slow as expected) and hope for the best.
I noticed that the newer stock on HC is much pricier though, so may not be ordering quite so much from them in future.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -
MORE SALES AND DISCOUNTS!!!:j
Debenhams 25% off (from today till saturday 11th): Ann Harvey's sale prices even lower than before, can also be used on new season's stuff. A(I got free delivery although it was not advertised)
John Lewis matching Debs: expensive, but they have quite a bit up to size 24 (Chesca etc), great if you are looking for something really special, wedding etc.
Evans: 20% off everything (limited time)
Simply Be: 20% off (selected lines) use code RRYY2. May still be more expensive than items on sale - I've tested, it does not work with other items
Happy shopping!0 -

Hey. I'm the same as you...used to be a 20, but have crept up a bit to 22, sometimes 24 and also have excess weight around my middle (worst place to retain it, healthwise
).
In this scenario, wrap dresses will be your friend. They're generally quite "in", so shouldn't be difficult to track down, but if you need some help, PM me. Otherewise I'd recommend splashing out a bit on some well-cut clothes. Yes, they're more expensive, but the difference is just amazing! Kaliko are fab (you can get them in John Lewis and they also have their own website) and I find I can fit into an 18 in some of their stretchier stuff, but they go up to a 20, poss a 22, which, as long as it has some give, should be fine for you.
Avoid baggy stuff as this will just make you look bigger.0 -
Hello df, welcome to this thread!
Of course you can ask for advice here!
Make sure you show off your best bits, cleavage, legs. A nice necklace on a generous cleavage can attract attention where you want it!0 -
Just bought a pair of size 22 leggings from Yours Clothing via Amazon. Were originally £12 but down to £5, very nice quality. As they weren't directly from Amazon I had to pay £3.95 postage but that was next day delivery via DPD. Would certainly use them again!0

Try next, I was very surprised with the fit on my dress, my friend bought one to and quite good value at £35
http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/women-plus-size-collections/dresses/2/3Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0
