Boden have some lovely maxis going up to a 20, I have two myself. Very suitable for a wedding, I wore mine with a little 3/4 sleeve shrug from Kettlewell colours. Not strictly in the money saving class, I suppose, but you can go through Quidco for Boden.

    Hi

I need help with a dress for a wedding (day guest) I am a size 20 at the moment but hoping I can get to an 18 by the time the wedding comes. I was looking for a wrap top, maybe 50's style, or maxi style, I have started to tear my hair out as I can't find anything suitable! I am a young 39 years old.

    Thanks x

I'm sure simplybe has a flash sale 50% pff dresses this weekemd. Worth a quick look. Saw some gorgeous maxis there recently. Unfortunately, I am too short to wear them!! :o
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

I'm a size 20/22, and recently bought a pair of white linen trousers ~ they look stylish, simple and are easy to dress up or dress down according to the situation. I used to have a wardrobe full of black trousers (I often looked like a member of the clergy..... ) but have recently decided to luxuriate in my curves rather than try and hide behind a monochrome dress code. I'd go for it ~ enjoy the summer, and enjoy dressing for it!

I'm a big fan of Joe Browns clothes ~ found via Simply Be or, as I usually do, thro' EBay ~ they go up to a size 30 + and make me feel less like a criminal for my extra pounds.

:hello:Another Joe Brown's fan here!! They are fab. Sizing does wander a bit however! I find I need different sizes occasionally.

I have also fallen foul of ordering jeans, gret fit. Then you buy the same ones in a different colour and they are nowhere near the same size  Don't know if it's just me, but black ones always seem to be smaller!!

Hi Hun, You are quite right, darker jeans are smaller..its the dying process..it really does shrink them x

Typical though - they've reduced it now :mad::mad: its floor length on me as although I'm 5'6 I have short and stumpy legs :D the picture doesnt do it justice - it looks really nice on.

Hi Depending on your budget, it might be worth trying the Vivien of Holloway website , you may need to go up a couple of sizes as the use old fashioned sizing, but they are a great fit and a lovely 50's style. You can normally pick them up second hand on ebay, and if you were never going to wear it again, they normally resell really well.

Evans online are selling Ruby Rocks dress that are quite sweet and there's a few codes about that should bring the price down a bit.

    Hope this helps. :o

 I've found that the boobage varies (mind you, so does mine!) but on the whole, their clothes look a little different from the norm that is offered to us womanly types and makes me feel like I'm not running a mile apart from the general fashion trends of the day. I prowl EBay like a panther, looking for the JB bargains!

I like the Joe Browns styles but I always find the garments too short. They always seem to finish mid hip and mid tummy bulge on me - which is the absolutely worst place they could possibly finish on my figure.

I have about five of their cardigans though because it doesn't matter if the top layer is short. :D
