Buying shoes/sandals is the other bane of my life as I find it so difficult to get any that are really comfy. I've found that due to my arthritis, I now walk differently and that when I wear sandals similar to the ones in the pics, they tend to slip as I walk, so my heel is actually coming down onto the side, iykwim. Perhaps the answer to that is to wear ones with straps to hold them in place

I wondered if you had ever tried Crocs? I don't necessarily mean the clompy clog style shoes (although personally I love them) but there are 80 different designs https://www.crocs.co.uk - some quite dressy, some with high heels etc. They are so comfy, and I'm sure you could find something you like. I find the Crocs website quite expensive though so if you find a style you like it's worth shopping around. Ebay is usually a good bet.

By the way, the white trousers and black and white top looks gorgeous on you.

Another that I like - Ann Harvey Teal Mesh dress (in the sale)

If it helps, I'm 31, a size 26 (huge bust though (H), so I'm praying that size 26 will fit in that area!) fair, freckled skin, auburn hair, 5'6" tall.

    Thank you!!

That Ann Harvey dress - I think I have it! I'm wearing it in my avatar pic. I'm fairly similar dimensions to you - 30, size 24, fair skin, auburn hair and 5'6 tall. Hang on, will see if I can find a pic of me in it - I know there is one, that should give you an idea of what it looks like on. This was at a formal awards do earlier on in the month. The wrap I'm wearing is actually a sarong :rotfl:

    Mrs_Ryan, you are a star!!

It looks lovely on you! And definitely gives a better idea of how it would look on me! Your pic shows the colour better too, I think I have the perfect glass necklace that would go with it (provided I can remember where on earth I put it!)

I've ordered it and I ordered the purple waterfall dress too, that came the other day and is absolutely lovely, it's a bit big on me though, so I might have to send it back and get a smaller size.

There is a shrug on simplybe that is black with peacock feathers on, I am either going to get that or there is a more knit like one that is glittery that I will order too. I think I've shopped myself out, I've spent so long looking at dresses the last few days.

Ah thats no problem at all Falling :) I'm glad I could help. And thank you :) I had a load of compliments off people at the party who all said it looked lovely - it's something a bit different from the usual black.
Ooh that shrug sounds lovely! Hope you find your necklace. :)

Oh well, dress decision has been solved for me, Debenhams have sent me an email saying the Ann Harvey dress is not available...despite it being on their site as available when I ordered and taking the money for it 3 days after I ordered it!! Wonder how long it will take them to give my money back to me!! lol

So purple dress it is, now to find accessories, shoes, etc, argh!!

Sorry to hear that, it's not an isolated problem.
I think all the problems are caused by Ann Harvey, rather than Debenhams. They are a nightmare to deal with, when I order, directly or via Deb. I never get what I ordered, the leave something out, or it's damaged, and it takes ages and several emails to get a refund.
    Bad customer service.

The teal dress is still available on the Ann Harvey website in a 16, 22 & 26 at £30 if you still have your heart set on it. I think the purple dress is lovely too, is it this 1 ?

Oh thats a shame! I bought mine in an Ann Harvey shop (just found it as a stroke of luck) but have seen it on their website as well...

Hmmm, sounds like a lucky escape then really as the wedding is only a couple of weeks away, so I wouldn't have had time to faff about if they sent me the wrong thing!

That's the one :) I think I will stick with that one now, it will give me more time to find the right shoes, etc! It really is lovely too, a really nice feel to it and it is absolutely spot on in length, just hits the top of my feet. It looks much more expensive than £20 too!

I may have to order another in a size down and send the 26 back though as it seems a little bit big round the bust, I'm not sure if I am between sizes at the moment or if it does come up slightly bigger.
