Large Plus Size Clothing

  • Hi everyone, my neighbour runs an online store that does plus size clothing called Zorba Fashions they specialise in vintage style dresses but they have some really nice materials and designs very similar to ones I see in some of the high street stores. I bought one for a wedding a few weeks ago and got some many nice compliments. I've been reading through the posts in the forum and thought some of you might like it for some of the events you were talking about.

It's my own fault for naively thinking that paypal returns would be treated in the same way as normal refunds, so annoyed with myself.

I'm veering towards paying a fiver to return the clothes and going somewhere else, I don't know what I'd spend £50 on there now the clothes aren't as good. I've just looked and it can take upto 30 days to refund the money

If you need me, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place x

Don't blame yourself, nobody else has this stupid rule, many accept paypal but don't penalise customers.
Paypal is not really more expensive than using cards, they are being stupid!

deedardingle- You look a similar size to me. I find that shorter length tops/t-shirts make me look rounder in the middle so i stick to long length tops, tunics and dresses and put cropped trousers, leggings and jeans or trousers under (depending on weather/occasion).
I don't see why anyone can't get away with having their arms and legs on show when it's a holiday. You want to feel comfortable in the heat. When it's mega hot i do wear calf length dresses on occasions (school run mostly), and wear short shorts under to stop chaffing. Or cycling short leggings would do the trick also.

Q- I would love to have advise from anyone as to where to look for long length tops for large ladies with small boobs like myself. I look 9 months pregnant or like i have a beer belly and tops that gather under the bust do nothing but empathise this. I wish designers realised that not all big ladies had big boobs to match!!

You are sooooooooo right. Anne Harvey are the worst culprit, some of their jackets/blouses are impossible to wear unless you are something like a G cup...

I find the oppposite. I'm a H cup and find everything too small in the chest area. In AH i have to go up about 2 sizes just to get shirts buttoned around by boobs and then everything is shapeless and baggy.
I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler

Now, why didn't I think of that? Yes, I've still got the dresses. One was lovely shades of blues and purples, the other more of Autumnal shades. After their salt water soak, the colours went really faded, drab and sludgy looking. I wish I had had the sense to soak them separately.:(

It's an idea definitely worth trying as I don't think I could make them worse than they are now and I would love to be able to wear them again. I've look at the dyes on both those sites but I'm sure I've seen them either in Morrisons, or one of our local shops, so will look there before sending away for any.

Once again, thank you to you lovely ladies.:A
It's ok, kind of thing that I do all the time until someone else points out a solution & I end up kicking myself. It's worth a shot anyway especially as I'm sure the kind of material they are takes dye really well. Good luck & let us know how you get on.
    Booo!!!

Over the years I found a lot of stuff that I could not buy, or if I bought would not look nice, because it was too baggy on the chest area, but ok everywhere else.

Probably their 'ideal' bust is something between a D and an H.

thanks im trying not to jinx it but glad to be graduating :) ive had a we look on ebay but ive only just started looking. max budget is probably £60 ish though ideally below. Im not sure of size as ive put a lot of weight on and hoping to take some of in the 5 or so weeks ive got left (lost 8 pounds :) ) but probably a 20 / 22

i really like this kind of style http://www.isme.com/teatro-flower-mesh-prom-dress/817669775.prd?browseToken=/b/1655,4294958640/s/bestsellers,0/o/2

but not sure of quality and i would like straps in some form. looking for something hopefully similar to this shape. Im 21 so something quite young but not to low or short.

hope i dont sound really fussy now. Out of the 3 you posted i like the last one best.

    Thanks

ahhhh my best mate has that dress - it looks lovely on. If I remember rightly it comes with straps as well.. the quality is good. I had the same problem - I'm a little older than you but I had to get a dress for a formal awards dinner a few weeks ago and had a nightmare!! I (or rather my Mum :D) found me a dress in Ann Harvey's sale section... it looked lovely on. Failing that - BHS. I got the most gorgeous one in there but had to take it back cos it was faulty but they have some really nice stuff in their Sophie Grey range - some styles up to a 24 but definitely most if not all styles go up to a 20/22 and prices quite reasonable too.

    Good luck :)
