Well done, great find :T (love your blog, by the way. You're a very talented lady.)
Today's boot sale bargains:
2 vintage 1960's kitsch prints £3
Jacob Jensen phone £2
Clinique, YSL,Clarins,Lancome and Sisley make-up (all unused and boxed) £1
Bright yellow 1960's melamine "Melaware" picnic set £2
2 leather bags - a black saddle bag and a green purse with a chain strap 40p
1970's maxi dress with an attached cape 20p
2 pairs of emo trousers with chains attached £1
Grey hippy-style dress 50p
Vintage clip-on gent's tie 20p
I'm keeping the pictures for my collection, the melamine will go in the campervan and makeup is for me. A friend's going to a fancy dress party as Marilyn Manson so the trousers are for him to try. The rest will be eBayed.
Off to a jumble sale at 2pm and hope to report more bargains later.0 -
Well the jumble sale wasn't up to the usual standard so not much to report. BF got a pile of penny collar vintage men's shirts which look like they've been in an attic since they were in fashion so they're being washed as I type.
I found:
A vintage Foster's linen jacket, thin lapels, very mod-ish.
Electric blue Frank Usher cardi
Boned rose print 50's style prom dress
Vintage nylons in a pretty box
Unworn 1960's chiffon nightie in the original packaging
Handmade retro patterned oven glove
Midnight blue silk cami with sequins
Leather belt with a snarling tiger buckle
1970's A-line skirt
1980's Jacques Vert red blazer with brass buttons
Photographs available on my blog!0 -
Wow, that rose printed prom dress is a fantastic find. Am sooooo jealous:D
Have found out that there is a Thursday carboot sale not too far from me, so guess where I'll be next week. Will also take the advice given on your blog.0 -

Good luck and don't forget to share your finds! xxx0 -
Doesn't it feel great when you find something lovely in a charity shop for a fraction of original price? I am already looking forward to my next "marathon".
I know couple of people who wouldn't blink an eye walking into shops and impulse buying a new £60 shirt! (and they still live at home and complain how they can't afford to buy a place of their own because they don't have enough money for deposit!!)
Meanwhile I can spend £30 on a charity shop spree and get loads of stuff that makes me smile (since the money goes to good causes as well, I call it feel-good shopping!)
I am going to do a big declutter during my holiday - taking things to charity shops...and of course buying some new stuff too while I am there ...can't wait.:rotfl:0 -
Question - are coffee mornings the same as jumble sales but with catering? I saw a poster outside a church hall this morning advertising a coffee morning for tomorrow and as well as coffee and tea and cakes on sale they have bric a brac. Am tempted to go, if only for the cakes :cheesy:0

Not as raucous as a jumble. Generally a rail of nearly-new clothing, a table of bric-a-brac and lots of delicious homemade cakes. They are always worth a visit!0 -
*decides to keep an eye out for coffee mornings*Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
