  • Seems to be sod all on around here, and what does happen I've heard isn't really worth the time. :( Wish I drove so I could actually get places!

Oh no, poor you. Living in an ugly, built-up, industrial metropolis certainly has it's advantages. We've got six jumble sales, four car boot sales (but the weather forecast is dire) and four table top sales advertised for tomorrow. What's a girl (with a very understanding partner with wheels) to do?
  • Been to my first ever jumble sale today :) how exciting! Cant wait til next weeks, apparantly theres one every Friday.

    Todays purchases include:

    * Per Una brown and gold knitted scarf 20p
    * Vintage cream knitted jumper 50p
    * Pink Next frilly t-shirt 50p (for my mum) current season too!
    * Black dress with pineapple print 50p
    * 2 pattened scarfs 20p each

Got a brand new with tags current season Next top from a chazza shop today aswell for 2pounds.

Looking forward to my week off work! Got 3 carboot sales planned for Sunday morning, so looks to be an early one for me and a village table top sale at a local community centre. In a posh village so hoping for some bargins.

Good luck with the bargain hunting and well done with the first jumble sale, you did amazingly well for a first-timer!
We've decided on two jumbles and a table top sale tomorrow - none in particularly posh areas but who knows? Better not overdo it tonight!
I'm looking forward to learing of everyone's weekend finds.

Phew, after two jumble sales and a table top sale this morning, I think I'll be needing a lie-down this afternoon before I can even contemplate hitting the town later!

    This morning's finds included:
Shabby chic hand crochet bed cover
9 x silk 1970's Indian tribal print scarves
Tweed Dunn and Co. flat cap
    Black cloche hat
    Padded African fabric shoulder bag
    Old-skool Adidas tracksuit top
    Vintage 1950's bathing costume
    Warehouse tweed waistcoat
    Warehouse silk blouse
Coast silk boned corset top with matching skirt
    1970's tan leather jacket
    Black PVC mini skirt
1970's halter neck polka dot sun dress
    2 velvet evening dresses
    Vintage Morphy Richards iron
    Orange waterfall-front cashmere cardi
    Silver sequinned cardi
    Boxed Ever Ready "Motorist's Lamp"
Two white glass jars with lids with a black retro design
Boxed set of glass coffee caps in red plastic holders and a coffee pot
1960's clothes brush in box with a photo of a lady with a beehive
    6 padded coat hangers

The coat hangers, glass jars, coffee set, vintage iron and clothes brush are for keeping. The Warehouse clothes are for a friend who has a smart workplace dress code and the cashmere cardi is for my mum. I'm going to use some of the silk scarves to wrap Xmas pressies and rest of today's haul is for eBay!

How do you find the local jumble sales, coffee mornings, etc. I'm in Middlesbrough (North East). Also, does anyone know of some good indoor car boots in this area, within a 20 mile radius. I would like to sell stuff seeing as the weather is changing I would prefer the indoors. I've tried looking on carboot junction but I only see a couple of small indoor ones.

The local paper is my source of information. I search the on-line classifieds to save buying the newspaper.

I know there's one at Redcar, but I've only been once and it was very small. I'm from Durham but I tend to go to Hexham as the boot sale there is massive, but quite a long way from you! Sorry I couldn't be more help :)
