You're daughter will love it! I started reading the series when it very first came out and even though I'm much too old to be reading them now I still find myself buying them as they are released. Look her up on her website, she is a hilarious lady and apparently the books are based on her true experiences at school. She even gives the details of what happened to the characters from her books in real life - who ended up with who etc! If you ever want a giggle I recommend you borrow this back from your daughter
I agree! I'm much too old for them but I have three or so of them upstairs I think, the full series on my kindle and I've been reading them for years since I found the first in my teens (was 14 when the first came out apparently) - they're hilarious even now
Last few days have seen me in all our local Charity Shops and another couple of local towns -have lots of the Royal Jelly stuff (Love it) but little else bargain wise.... they all seem so expensive lately here - especially all of the British Heart Foundations that we visited (four different ones!).

Hi all!
On Saturday I went to a local jumble sale with my sister and my mum. I was looking for china, my sister was looking for cookery books, and my mum was looking for anything that might annoy my Dad!!!
I bought:
- Gainsborough bone china (3 cups, 6 saucers and 6 tea plates)
- A complete vintage tea set in original box
- 2 German cups & saucers
- Fruit salad bowl
- Fluted flower glass plate
- Glass trio serving dish
- 3 tablecloths including a fab 1970's palm tree print one
- Hand embroided tray cloth
- 5 napkins
- Navy velvet trousers (for an 80's party)
- Boden summer skirt (lovely, but too small)
- Animal boarding skirt with tags
- 2 summer school dresses
- Other kids clothes
- 18 mugs
- A faux fur russian style hat like Kirstie Allsopp wears on Location, Location, Location
Some of the photos are on my newly created blog, if anyone is interested.
My sister declared the afternoon 'great fun' - they don't have jumble sales often where she lives, in fact there aren't many jumble sales at all now, are there?
I wore my new hat to the zoo yesterday and it kept me very toastie - not bad for 20p! In total I spent less than £10!0 -
Hi, I'm a long time lurker and I'm always jealous of everyones bargains, especially Goanmads
Finds.
I'm going to a regular wed bootsale 2moro for the first time which I've just discovered.
Also found a huge bootsale 15mins away on the bus but doesn't start up again until april.
I ventured to a few charity shops yday in a local quite rich town and was so shocked at the prices!
I know its for charity and the money goes to a good cause but I though charity shops are there
For people who can't really afford new. £2 for tatty paperbacks that are free with magazines and
£11.99 for old primark bags! I just think if prices where more reasonable I'm sure people would
Spend much more money in them.
Only bought a couple of things in the charity shops which are:
Topshop sailor natacual(sp) bodycon dress £3.50- very in this season
Next sailor style stripe top £3.50
Both in excellent condition.
An antiques book and virgina andrews book (I love her) 50p each
My best bargains have to be when I had a nose in topshop.
A beautiful strapless, black cocktail style dress with a ruffle bottom half.
Absoultey stunning. Was £79 and I paid... £5!
Also got a black tight thin military jacket (topshop) £39 down to £5.
So pleased with my finds, hope I get some good bargains 2moro at the midweek
Bootsale.
Love reading everyones finds.

Just had to tell somebody..........
Been looking for a pair of poshly smart black 'heels' to go with a 'little black dress' for ages.....nothing in the chazza shops and the proper shoe shops have been full of skyscraper heels and ginormous platforms and I refuse to subject my feet to such torture! Anyhoo, today I called into our local, twice weekly hospice sale and....ta da...there was a pair of M & S, Autograph black patent, medium height heels, slightly rounded toe, brand new and only £4! Just had a squiz at the M & S website and there they are....priced at £45!!! Cannot believe my luck....I am thrilled to bits. :j
(Just a pity they aren't half a size smaller but hey ho.....!:rotfl:)0 -

Check out Poundland, they do memory foam insoles which make those bargain shoes fit a bit better.
It's the first wednesday boot sale of the season tomorrow. I'm not expecting much but worth a peep! x
Ooooh thanks, will do! (Memory foam insoles....wotever next!!:))
Our local car boot doesn't start up again til Easter.....:(0 -
It's to sell on so I won't divulge exactly what, but I've bought no end of stuff from bootsales in the past week. If you can find an indoor one, particularly, there seems to be a lot of good stuff around.0
