The car boot we went too wasn't bad, didn't get anything spectacular, but with a few other items, I found two medium sized & really nice & clean with tags & boxed, Me To You bears to add to my collection. Only £2 each & a small one for 50p.
It was very cold though with an icy wind.

Sorry you found nothing, JesaRose. It happens like that sometimes, but it's still fun to look, if somewhat disappointing!
    Best wishes,
    Val:hello:

  • Some good finds here everyone. I've been a bit disappointed this year, don't think I've found anything in the Charity Shops yet.

I intend selling at a Car Boot soon, when the temperature rises a little!

OH got some James Bond books at a car boot sale last year, for 50p each. A dealer offered him £50 for the 5 but OH has packed them away for a rainy day as they are worth more than £10 each.

Really? Jon's been collecting both the vintage hardback (with dustcovers) and 1960's paperback editions for years and we have every one in duplicate and often triplicate, he's never paid more than 50p. He's never considered them worth much just just likes Bond.

Our wednesday car boot sale restarts next week.:j There were several jumbles listed yesterday but none in areas with good donations.

Both of you make sure you check to see if any are first editions because that makes a BIG difference. A first edition hard back with dust jacket of Casino Royale (the first Bond book) is worth approx £30,000 in excellent condition! And the prices come down from there.

Now that would be a find.

Bought a 1930/40's mirror of ebay for £5 which is exactly what I wanted for my work in progress bedroom (isn't everything a WIP!) ! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150553646972&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_500wt_1156 Hope that works! Picking it up on saturday and its just round the corner from my friend who i was visiting anyway...perfect!

Love this thread but don't usually comment. However, this week I got 5 x pefect condition Ben 10 bits of plastic (sorry, I mean toys) for 10p each. No. 2 was thrilled! and No. 1 got 2 x Star Wars Transformer bits of plastic (sorry, toys) at 50p each which came with their instructions and looked like they'd only ever been taken out of their bags.

No. 3, at 18 months old, stole a soft toy fish from same stall and as the stall holders felt sorry for him given that his brothers had new toys, they let him keep it!
  • Hi guys, I'm looking for an indoor carboot in Manchester as I'm not fussed with ebay but i'm struggling to find any open and have lots to sell! or any car boot really, even outdoor! it would be for clothes and shoes. do you know anything about times of year for this kind of thing? it's my first time trying and i'm getting the impression that even the indoor ones are affected by seasons?
any tips would be great - northwest area. thanks xxx
