Happy new year everyone.
managed to get out to one shop when we visited Whitby and picked up a fabulous brown velvet jacket for my DD who absolutely loves it and was just what she was searching for. Cost £6.99 but a tenth of the cost it would be new.
Am hoping to get back to carboot this weekend but not sure it will be on.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

Hi
Newbie poster to this forum although have been a lurker and love reading your posts.
I m posting asking for your help as you all seem to know everything.
I have bought a vintage 1950s "gucci" handbag from my local charity shop. Im pretty sure its authentic but would like to make sure. Can anyone help ? I have googled and checked comparison sites but not really any information about something so old. Its too old to have serial numbers and leather tags.
Thanks in advance Sally0 -
I thought that even vintage Gucci had labels inside.
Check this website and halfway through the page you'll see examples of vintage Gucci labels on handbags. http://members.ebay.com/ws2/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=aegiale&afsrc=1Saving money right, left and centre0 -

The best place to get authentication on designer bags is thepurseforum - google the site and post on the Gucci thread with photos. There are lots of collectors on here who can tell you if they think its a real one or notNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

your best bet may be to take it to a Gucci store and see if they know about it or if they are interested in getting it authenticated by the company-I would have thought 50's Gucci bags were fairly hard to find these days so they may have a company interest? Also you could try the Purse Forum-the ladies on there know so much about bags and are happy to help out.0

I'm hoping to have a day of charity shopping with my mum this week so maybe I will have some bargains to post later in the week
I did buy a very sweet little wool dress from Shikta (I think) and a pair of brand new black jeggings for £5 and £3 this week in one of my local charity shops. The dress is in the wash at the moment so I will try and post a photo when its dry
Nice to see you back Goanmad. I think I have worked out how to properly follow blogs so hopefully I will be following yours very soonNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
Quickly nipped round the jumbley type charity shop in my lunch hour today and picked up this little 80s dress with matching belt which I was eyeing up before Christmas. I decided not to at the time but today it was on the £1 rail so I couldn't say no. I'm going to attempt to take a few inches off (at least six of them).
I also got these Christian Dior tights for just 50p
A great little party outfit for £1.50:money:Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550
