A Missoni scarf for £3.25. Well chuffed with it.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Love my local CS but apparently they are having to price stuff in new year, will lose them loads of business i think if too expensive, they have a good turnover of stuff as it is cheap people buy from it. I also donate my stuff as I have had many bargains from there.0 -
Last carboot until March. Very few sellers but, I managed 3 lambswool jumpers. 2 x Next, Jigsaw and Principles Jeans. All fit perfectly with sizes, 18, 14 and 12. I'm a 14!
Also 2 BNWT Scottish make lambswool cardigans at charity shop for £4 each.
Hugo Boss suit, needs a good iron/dryclean and will need to replace a couple of buttons = £2.
What a difference when I'm at the front when the interesting stuff comes out of the car. No trying to peer over people and reach around to grab something to look at. Just look at my leisure.
Off topic, but Tescos were reducing food to 10p today before the store closed. Grapes, raspberries, large pizza, ready meals. Again, right at the front of the queue.Saving money right, left and centre0 -

Mad isnt it! Its amazing how many people I see just picking up clothing in 2nd had stores etc looking at the size label then instantly disregarding it if its not their size, especially with vintage stuff the sizes vary so much as well as between stores. I have items in my wardrobe ranging from size 10 to size 18!!£264.05 / £11,000 in 2011 :j
frugal living 2011 total spend £300 :mad:0 -
Totally agree - I am a 12 but my wardrobe has things as small as 8 (inc French Connection, which is usually even smaller I find) to 16s which in 70s/80s vintage sizing is perfect
I have found no gems this week apart from a book for hubbie for £1 to go in his christmas book box which I always get him as he reads so quicklyNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
It's a small independent charity shop Jesa. I did say they could have got more money, but they replied they need to keep stock moving on as quickly as possible. They are right next to a free large carpark in a fairly middle class area and next to Sainsburys, so always hugely busy.
They do have some brilliant stuff coming in and they have increased their prices by a huge amount compared to previous prices. Stuff they think could be valuable is often taken to the local auction house. Also they recently had several genuine designer handbags in and were selling them for £100 each!! They all sold within a week though.
Yesterday picked up a Supa Fit Dressmakers dummy. Only the torso (immac. condition) but the manufacturers can send me the stand and fittings for around £20. Brand new it's £120 and I got it for a £1
Am so jealous. My charity shops were always fairly dear but after the tv programme with Mary Portous they are often dearer than the shops.0 -
Popped into my 'newest just opened' CS and was extremely disappointed. Picked up 6 small wooden tree decorations with no price on. The boy serving asked the manager who said £1 each. £6!!!. I told him that was way too expensive and put them back. I got some today in Tesco (smaller but more of them) for £1.50 in the sale. Same shop last week I asked the price of an 'unpriced' item (should have been £1.50/£2 as I have bought them in the past), to be told by the person serving £7! He then said it was priced high as the manager wanted it for himself!?! Wouldn't mind but I donated a load of good stuff there when it opened. Never saw any of it out when i went in the day after for a mooch. Either it sold really quickly or it never saw the rails...I am now giving my stuff to a different CS.0
