  • Jumble sale this afternoon - first one in ages. Got there a few minutes late so wasn't expecting much. As it happens I got:
Set of 7 ornate brass wall lights (not particularly old but look very French/Louis XV1) £2
    Ikea table lamp 50p
1000 piece Jigsaw still sealed 50p
Hama beads and lego for my DD 50p
    Tan brogues like new 50p
    Top Shop sandals/flipflops 50p
Silky (probably polyester) scarf in beige/nude shades 20p
3 leather belts (one Windsmoor - very 1980's) 20p each
As I was leaving I noticed there was still a pine bedside table left (had been a pair originally). Not what I was planning on buying but I thought i'd ask how much anyway. £1 - bargain!

Also from the CS last week I got 2 full size unused Origins items. £1.49 and 99p. The dearer one on the Origins site is £22. :)
I guess the staff didn't know the make.
  • I went to a jumble sale, first time for ages. Got 2 M&S shirts for OH, 50p, M&S summer shirt 25p, M&S top 25p, M&S trousers 25p (but they have a small stain on the bottom of the leg I can't get out). Also one of those snuggly things like a shawl with pockets for my Mum 25p, a bone china mug 25p and 3 good books for £1. So very pleased with my bargains!

Good evening all, looks like some fab bargains have been scored!

Got a full length faux fur Per Una coat for £6 this morning, a lot more than I'd usually pay for anything in CS, but it looks and feels as new. Yesterday got a pair of tan Bronx suede lace up knee high boots for £1.50. Needed a clean but looked fantastic after a squirt of suede cleaner!

  • We went to a small indoor boot with about 12 stalls. Found a box of china items for 5p each, got:
    Dumbo 2 handled toddler cup
Matching milk jug and butter dish
    Cream jug
    Amber coloured vase-20p
Best bargains were 3 pairs of jeans, (Next, Eddie Bauer & Red Herring BNWT) and All Saints large canvas bag bnwt for £5 the lot.
I could have got a silver PS2 & 6 games for £20 but I didn't have enough money (been looking for one for ages on ebay, lol)
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:
  • Went into the Marie Curie charity shop by work in my dinner hour and got a pair of looks abd feels like new brown Hush Puppy calf length boots for £7. Bit expensive but they are a good make and really comfy. Popped into the local hospice one and got 4 brand new Road Dahl books for my daughter for £1.50, going to put these away for Xmas.
I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round

Unfortunately I coudn't go to another CS I really wanted to go to but have it planned maybe for today or next week. Also discovered another new CS on the way back home on the bus! :j
Weather's looking good here:cool: so hopefully CB is open tomorrow and can go, please please please.......(probably going to be the last of the season though!)

Good luck everyone in your finds! (and don't forget to report back!);)
  • Does vintage just mean old? Or are these items worth something?
