Items that caught my eye (but were too expensive in my opininon) were: Green Converse trainers £9.99; Medium sized Brass plant pot £12.99; Macys small shopper with pic of a dog £12.99; Fake fur coat £25 and a gents sheepskin jacket £60. All the primark 'atmosphere' stuff tends to be £3.99!! (Dearer than new.) Or maybe i'm just used to jumble sale prices.
I have found the same thing, jasmineswhiskers. I visited an area I hadn't been to for a while & the three charity shops there had all had a make over, no more delicious jumble of goods on sale, I could have been in a department store & the prices were way over the top.Best wishes,

Went to a local jumble on Sat - wasn't a huge amount of stuff but I got a Paul Costelloe Dressage black top for 50p (I knew these were expensive but had a look in John Lewis today and it was probably around £50 new!), a nautical navy & white stripe pleated skirt 40p (hoping this look is still in next summer), table tennis balls for the kids (and the cats) 20p, Bally leather shoes 50p and 2 tiny picture frames 20p.0

Went to 6 CSs yesterday (yes, first time going to go to so many!:j) but only bought things from 3 of them. I only had time to have a rushed browse in the last one!
From 2 independent ones I bought a lovely silk scarf-50p
A mock crock brown across body bag, label inside says 'Ruby Hand bags genuine Leather, Made in England,' anyone know further info? would be greatly appreciated!:A
Also,....this is the interesting part, there is an invite to a handbag and jewellry party dated Monday 17th December 1990! WOW, wish i could've gone, even though I probably didn't know what a handbag was at that time!:rotfl:There's also a 'Selfridges' reciept dated 11/10/1989! who knew you could get a 'dust buster' for £4.99 at Selfridges!:rotfl:The owner also seemed to have vocal lessons as there's a vocalists card in the bag....
I love finding out history about the things I've bought! I can't believe it's been nearly 20 years since somebody has used it and the exterior still looks brand new!
Sorry for all the rambling but it was £2;)
Also bought a big chunky Asos cardi for £4.55 in BHF. Saw a lovely MaxMara camel coat size 14 for £10 and a vintage 'Jaeger' blazer for £5, but didn't buy. Should I have bought them?0 -

If the fit and the cut was right for you then yes! I tried on a wool camel short coat in my local CS - John Lewis brand (JFW) - today which was £12 - didn't buy as the fit and shape weren't great. Max Mara & Jaeger are much better brands. I really want a camel coat though - will keep looking0 -

Take a look at this site, think this is them - says they've been around since 1971!

The advert in M&S that syas "We will give you £5 voucher and give your clothes to Oxfam" makes me laugh these days as Oxfam will probably charge more for them than M&S did when they were new.
The prices in some of the charity shops is a joke0 -
