    Better, 'cos I hate Xmas!

Last night's jumble was one of the best I've been to in years! There was so much stuff. Vintage tie neck blouses in every colour, various other blouses, nylon negligees and nighties, corsets, vintage 1970's and 1980's day and pinafore dresses, a couple of 1960's skirt suits, 1950's cotton pinies, fully fashioned jumpers, a camel wool coat and a couple of 1980's batwing cardis. There's six pairs of vintage 1960's shoes (two pairs fit me to perfection), three folders from an old wool shop that shut down in the early 1970's packed with literally hundreds of crochet and knitting patterns from the 1940's to the early 70's , at least six pairs of 1950's curtains, 1940's dress fabric. Makes include St Michael, Jaeger, Windsmoor, Eastex, English Lady, Miss Holmes.

What's more everything was 20p an item.

And very naughtily I popped into the local chazza shops on the way back from swimming this morning:
1960's tomato red & Cream wool shift dress and jacket (£2)
    Valentino sunglasses in case (2.95)
3 x 1970's ladies felt skull caps with feather trim (2.50 each)

    I'm terrible, it's an addiction!

Don't worry Goanman, it's an addiciton that doesn't need curing!;):D
  • Got a marvelous bargain in a charity shop today. A pale pink kettle and 3 matching canisters, all brand new and cost £6 the lot. The kettle is the type you have on the hob and it whistles! My little girl loves them as her favourite colour is pink.
I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round

It's amazing you have so many great sales to go to. I get about 3 a year near me! My only question is ..... how do you carry it all!!! :)

You pass it over to the ladies behind the counter who bag it and keep a running total. My BF adores jumble sales as much as me so he shares in carrying it to the car!

The sales are always great, the jumble season has just kicked off that's why pickings are rich. Give it another couple of months and it'll be overwashed tat from the high street.

I haven't been to either charity shops or car boots for ages (hurt my back and having problems walking), so reading this thread keeps me going. We have a summer only Saturday morning CB on the car park of our local health centre, and I've driven past the last 2 Saturdays, and there has only been 2 stalls! This morning at 10.30 the women were experiencing a mad rush of buyers - well 1 man was looking at something - but they were packing up 20 minutes later. Roll on next year CB season, I'll be better then, and can perhaps be able to post my finds on here. Haven't seen a Jumble sale for so long, don't exist here I think.
