anything will sell!! Try Ebay forst though as fur still sells on there, you may get them stolen at a car boot sale....well depends on the quality of the customers I suppose, but you'll get more money on Ebay for sure.

    Ooooh.......20mins of carbooting before the rain came down but I managed to get;

Brown casual quilted jacket, doesn't look worn = £1
Great, I've lost weight and two casual coats are huge on me and can be charity shopped
    Principles cream skirt = £1
Damn! Too big. Might save for next year's ebay in Spring or charity shop
    Genuine Barbour washbag = £1
I handwashed it and looks fab.

Can I urge anyone who hasn't looked yet to go to Goanmad's homepage where she blogs. It's revived an interest in fashion for me, was a factor in making me diet so I could really sort out my fat/thin wardrobe and directs me off to other blogs and fashion/thrify news and articles.:)

Thanks for the mention, Lulu! With finds like yours I reckon you should start blogging.

In all seriousness that's why I started blogging, there's so much more fun to be had car booting and charity shopping than leafing through racks of over-priced high street tat.

No car boots and bargains this weekend but London Fashion Weekend was great as I got to meet a favourite blogger.
  • Went to a a car boot in St Helens in a multi story car park so its on all year. I got:

    La Redoute top - 50p
    Dotty P's dress (looks new) - £1
    4 books £1.20
blow up Hello Kitty - 50p
and a pair of Topshop jeggings that had been dumped in a box of stuff a booter couldnt be bothered taking home so free and fit great!
I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round

I bought a black rabbit fur coat last year for £7 at a car boot. I don't think most people are interested which is great if you are. I wore it all last (freezing cold) winter and it is soooo warm. Was a little worried about wearing it for obvious reasons but I had no problem. Last month I bought exactly the same coat but in cream for £10. They seem to sell well on ebay too.
  • Our local charity shops are so expensive average price for clothes is £4 - £5 which I would not mind paying if it was something that was fairly new and I really liked it, so dont get to get many bargains at ours, however I am venturing to the next village today on my day off so will update later if I pick anything up there are about 6 shops so might be able to get one thing if nothing else.

Make £200 by end of January... £20.42/£200
Grocery Challenge £200 pm Jan £0/£200
January no spend days - 1/31
  • Went to a charity shop by work yesterday and got a Per Una fleece type fabric top like new for £3.50. Very cosy. Have noticed the charity shops have become more expensive and a lot busier. Still cheaper than the high street though and more fun.

  • Not posted for a while although have been keeping up to date with all your finds and bargains and love reading your blogs too!:T
Picked up a genuine (chavtastic) Burberry mens shirts at the local charity shop for £1.50 which is on its way to the Netherlands now after an appearance on ebay lol.
Today I went to a 'week to week' charity shop (different charity has it each week) that is a bit like a jumble sale and really hit and miss but usually very cheap.
Picked up a Kronk poodle print blouse for 50p
Tom Wolfe BNWT this season jumper dress 50p
    New stylish handbag 50p
    Next dress 50p
New look lace evening top 50p
New Look sandals 50p and a fair isles cardigan 50p quite pleased with my finds :j
    £264.05 / £11,000 in 2011 :j
frugal living 2011 total spend £300
  • That Kronk poodle print blouse sounds great, SweetNothing, very kitsch!
Today, got a fantastic little brown leather satchely style handbag, been after one like this for ages £1! So pleased with this, I wore it out of the shop like a kid with new shoes!
A lovely brown crockery chicken, you know the sort, you lift it off the base and keep things in it? My grandparents have one on top of the welsh dresser, always kept full of boiled sweets, and I still have to pinch one out of it every time I visit them. I've wanted a chicken as long as I can remember , and got him today for £3. Also from the same shop, one of those metal sheild that hang around decanters, this one says 'sherry'. This just appealed to me, I don't know why, so the chicken is currently wearing it, haha!
Also a pair of black trousers for work, worn but in good nick £2.99.
Hope you're all getting lots of bargains today, can't beat having a rummage on a miserable day
