I'm always excited to hear about what people have picked up from their CB trips. I especially love reading about GOANMAD's stuff as I love vintage clothes and accessories.

It's been too wet/cold for me to brave it out of the house for the last few weeks...revenge of the cold monster!! I'll stick to the charity shops for a while! :)

  • After inspiration from this thread I persuaded my hubby to help me do a car boot sale on Saturday. We made £55 profit and more importantly sold a lot of LARGE things so our loft is a bit clearer!!!

I'd checked out this boot sale a couple of times over the past few weeks - it was definately my type of sale as the organisers allowed the sellers 30 minutes to set up before the buyers were allowed in and it didn't start until 11am so no 'stupid-o'clock' start!!! Also it was mainly people who were trying to clear their lofts rather than lots of traders, which I prefer.

Valanita, i am about a size 20/22 and i always find stuff in my size but then I'm in the charity shops practically daily!the bigger clothes tend to sell as soon as they are on the rails
If you know your charity shops staff then you could always ask them to keep aside any Simply Be(for example) clothes for you
  • Did my 3rd BS of the year yesterday and made £130:j

The only thing was, I spend £30 on clothes from other stalls! One woman was selling Monsoon and Per Una, some new, some second hand for 50p per item!!!!! Went a bit mad, and now have a new wardrobe :T

Depending on the weather, I think I will do another one next weekend, before the really horrible weather kicks in :(
Nothing feels better than saving money :j
  • Valnita, I have found lots of larger ladies clothing at boot sales too, a littel tip is to look at the stall holder, if shes on the plump side then stop and have a look, she may well have been bigger than she is now and lost weight hence selling her old clothes.

    HTH

Did a car boot sale on Saturday with my mother in law, she didn't make much, only about £15 as she was selling stuff for too little 20p for a good never used webcam and wireless headphones. Have told her she needs to up her prices next time as shes just wasting her time.
    grocery challenge Sept 2012 £21/£399
  • I was really pleased with my find today at the car boot - a pair of grey leather vintage boots which were made in Austria. They were only £2.50.

Crinoline lady 1950's cake stand £1
    Dressmaker's dummy £1
    4 pieces of Hornsea pottery - 1960's era £3
