  • First post on this board, though I've been lurking for a while.

Got quite a few bits at this morning's boot sale, despite the horrible weather there were plenty of sellers. Best bargains of the day were:

Roland Cartier brown leather boots, nearly new and boxed £2
Pair of kids' Heelys, great condition, 50p
    Body Shop Moonflower giftset £1
Mini Ghost body lotion (one of my favourite perfumes) 10p
    Next fur gilet £1.50
  • Inspired by a look through goanmad's blog last night I got up early this morning and dragged OH to the booty. Did the best haul I've done for a long time, probably because i was prepared to look properly and root through piles! :o

    - vintage floral maxi skirt, 50p
    - coral Topshop bib vest, £1
    - floaty floral tiered Miss Selfridge blouse, BNWT £1
    - floral cotton Miss Selfridge blouse (Cath Kidston style print), £1
    - huge cashmere mix leopard print shawl in plum shades, £1
    - silk mix 'Jovonna London' dress in black with elbow length sleeves, bib detail and cream silk ruffle along hem, £1.50
    - white silk mix 'Jovonna London' dress with large ruffle neckline and lace detail, BNWT £1.50 (this one's a bit too frilly for me so I might put on ebay or I might see if my friend likes it)
    - brown leather fornarina knee high boots, £1

    - small wooden birdhouse, 30p
    - wicker picnic hamper with plates, mugs & cutlery, £1.20 (going to re-line this in some vintage fabric and give it to my brother & his girlfriend for Christmas)
    - wooden framed chalkboard with deep tray attached, £1 (I'm thinking herbs in little galvanized pots would look fab in the tray)
    - dark wooden shelves in 'ladder' style, £3

Really chuffed :D I'll be putting pics on my blog later (see my homepage)
  • I did manage to get up and out this morning and I found one that is literally 5 minutes from where I live today,I've never known its there as its not advertised at all however when I got there the steward was so rude to me,I turned the car round and went to my usual one!! I didnt find anything amazing as this CBS is average,but got;

    new water filter+3 cartridges £1.50
Jamie Oliver cookbook, the Naked Chef one I dont have £1
    BN Abercrombie&Fitch t-shirt 50p
    a massive parsley plant £2
    Mark Hill BN tongs £1.50
    a set of 6 rose plates £1

thats it apart from a few household things,I couldnt be bothered to stay long as everyone seemed to be in a funny mood there,a few of the stallholders were arguing amongst themselves (Mothers &Daughters)! very weird day!!

:T Good on you for turning around again! I agree, there was something funny in the air today.

When I bought my picnic basket it was from a stall with a 'make us an offer, everything must go' sign. It was labelled at £2 so I asked the chap if he'd take £1, so he turned and asked his wife. She screwed her face up, rolled her eyes and shouted 'no' very rudely, then proceeded to mumble that she wouldn't take less than £1.50 whilst walking away. I very naughtily pulled a shocked face at her husband (I wouldn't normally react, but her attitude stank!), rummaged in my purse and told him I only had £1.20 left so he whispered 'ok, it's yours' and grinned at me. He's going to get in so much trouble if she finds out :rotfl:
  • hey Bibs, its Lomie!!! glad it wasn't just me then today-£1 was a good offer with room for haggling especially as they had that sign up!!weird!
