I've noticed a lot of ladies on here buy clothing from charity shops & car boots.
What I'd like to know is, how on earth do you find your sizes?
Whenever I see something I like, it is usually too big, or more likely, far to small for me.:(
    Best wishes,
    Val:hello:
  • I am a bog standard size 14 Val, a lot of clothes seem to be OK for me.
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Can't say I ever have a problem either, Val. I'm a standard UK size 8, if I like it and it's too big I'll buy it and get the sewing machine out.

Thank you, both. Both of you much smaller ladies than me. Guess I just have to keep looking.

I'm a 12, sometimes 14 but I will try on anything from a 10 to 16 because it depends what shop its from. If its too big I'll wear a belt with it and if its vintage the size will be different anyway as a 12 years ago does not have the same measurements as it does today
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

At Ripon car boot on Sunday I spotted a lovely Hobbs skirt - size 10:eek:!
I deliberated for ages trying to decide whether I could squash my size 14 frame into it. Finally I decided that perhaps I wouldn't! What a pity as I really loved the skirt.

That is a pain, TravellingAbuela, my problem too, but I'm larger.:D

We went to a car boot this morning. I bought some cuddly toys. Daughter bought 8 of those Toll things from Scandinavia, for £8, her partner collects them.
    I love treen & bought a wooden hand 50p & a mushroom also 50p.
Car boot was busy, but not much caught my eye.
    Best wishes,
    Val:hello:

Generally kids clothes sell for anything from 3 items for £1
Or single items 50p to £1 each at my local cb
Also depends on the brand, the better quality brands people are prepared to pay more for!
I reckon £2-3 for clarkes shoes that are like new & boxed, more worn and unboxed ones prob get £1-£1.50
And maybe £1.50 for clothes that are brand new
Toys depends on what they are anything from 50p+!
    Books prob 50p-£1
