    Yep, HDMI.

i cant check the settings as im streaming right now but...
from memory you dont select anything on the PS3
just select HDMI and it will list all the supported sound outputs
however change the output from PCM to bitstream
IIRC there are 2 settings for this under video/audio IIRC

Having a few techie problems with mine. The auto switch off works from my Sony TV, but the auto switch on does not . I am connecting the TV via HDMI. Also the volumes are very different bewteen my TV output on the G500 and my satallite output. Sky is connected via optical cable, and is MUCH louder. Any ideas anyone??

Also, not so much of a bargain but this dealer is selling for £249.99 + £20 delivery - still a lot cheaper than Comet, but twice as much as Currys (if you can find one)

I know it only mentions 32 to 40" tv's but i've got a 50" i just hope it can take the weight.

No probs. It will probably take the weight, but your TV will 'overhang' on both sides. I have a 37" on mine and the TV is almost as wide as the stand.

You may be better off with the G800 or even G1000 but these will cost you more.

I think i can live with that.

Still a good deal at this price i can now say bye bye to a load of wires.
Which is handy since i am moving my rooms about and i will be in a smaller sitting room.

You can adjust volume down in your Sky box settings, that should hopefully put it level with everything else.

Ive seen one of these in a store, £100, but it has scratches on the top + my tv is 32" so am thinking it may look not good. But the sound will make up for it.
My other units that I have are pretty old skool and dont have HMDI.
    DVD has Optical
    Video scart
    Sky scart
    Wii-not sure
What will I need to get started?
My TV is Samsung and only has one scart, so will have to get multi scart cable?
  • Bought it in the end.
£79.95, paid £19.99 for an optical lead, could of got it cheaper somewhere else, and bought the 3year replacentment warrant for £16.99.
The sound is great, what a bargain. Well pleased.
    Thanks MSE.
    Cant even see the scratches
