as long as you have 1 or 2 HDMI cables plus the main TV one then you can get going

you know not to spend crazy money on HDMI cables?

also im assuming you have HDMI on your 360?

Coolio  well now that you mention it i was looking in sony shop at hdmi cables and nearly had a heart attack, I will have a look around for cheaper versions, yep 360 has hdmi ;)

dont spend more than a tenner on any cable
you can get them as cheap as £2 odds eg
    http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_7&products_id=105192&source=webgains&siteid=20363

however i would pay a wee bit more for a cable showing full 1080p compliance
or at least make sure the cable shows it
i had real problems with a cheap cable making the PS3 throw a wobbly on 1080 settings

edit: this ones only £2.50 http://www.bracketsrus.co.uk/1M-PREMIUM-HDMI-Cable-and-HDMI-Cables-p582.html

also watch for cable lengths.you dont want too long if you like those wires all neat

After reading somewhere else on MSE I ordered two HDMI cables from here:

    http://www.thatcable.com/

What Hi-Fi rated it 5*, it is 1080p compliant and it costs less than a fiver.

Only ordered Wednesday so not arrived yet (maybe there this evening when I get home?)

Try getting the number of a local store from here [ not allowed to post link ] and putting in currys. I managed to get through to a branch who told me about another branch having one in stock, but the call centre told me they didn't recognise the SKU.

Thanks to OP and Shailesh: after checking saynoto0870 ...

I called my local branch and the salesman who answered my call was soooooooo helpful: as well as tracking down 2 stores that had one he gave me the internal product code: 687 226 - as this would make it easier for sales staff to locate it. Of the 2 stores he gave me one had a display model: which is now in the back of my Fiesta.

I must also add how impressed I was with ALL the staff I dealt with: I shall visit Curry's again.
  • Don't know if anyone is interested but I bought one this morning at the Plympton branch and they still had the display model left for sale.

Set mine up at the weekend - wow - the sound is incredible!!

Dead easy to set up as well.

Check these out - real bargain for not much more than the price of a normal TV stand.

Same here Aidy, very pleased with mine. There were 3 left in Currys in Newtownabbey on Friday night, one of which is now mine. Forestside and Sprucefield (and the PC World there) had none.
Be warned this comes whole, so the box is pretty huge. I had to take it out of the box to get it into my car (3 doors being the biggest problem). Depending on the shape of the doors, I think it would fit in the back seats of a Mondeo for example.
Sound quality is great, if a bit boomy sometimes. It has a DMPORT and you can plug an iPod adaptor into it, which I have from another system, so you can plug the iPod in and use the remote to control it. Impressively it has 3 HDMI, 3 Optical and 1 coaxial digital input, as well as stereo phono. Good luck finding one!
