You can download the instructions from the Sony website here

    http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hcs-cinema-surround-kit/rht-g500#pageType=manual

The remote has a code of RM-ANU041
Thank you very much for this info x

I had the one from Gloucster with no remote and have been seaching the net for one with little joy. (They weren't offering the £20 off for no remote either so you did OK there) Found the RM-ANU041 at £60 to £65 online but the other "newer" models have an alternate remote RM-ANU031 which is £15 so trying to find out if the RM-ANU031 will drive the RHTG500.

I have downloaded the instructions from the sony website if you can't find the link let me know. One site I visited wanted £15 for a set of instructions!!!

If you find a supplier of the proper remote please can you let me know too.

Won't be setting mine up until the new TV arrives next week but will be looking at other people's experiences

site to purchase remote at £65 at remotes4u.co.uk
Hello, thanks very much for your time.
My husband has said to tell you to go back to store, tell them you've just unwrapped it as he did and there was no remote etc. They had a look for it then offered him £20. he has also gone in today and told them he thought there should have been an optical audio lead supplied with the unit. So they gave him one of the shelf ( costs £20). Can't fault Currys customer service in Wrexham.

Have you got the sound coming out of your g500 yet? If not let me know and I'll help.
    Can't thank you enough.
husband...once he got the instructions for a g550 unit ....managed to work out we needed an optical audio lead as well as the hdmi.
He had plugged it in!!!! ( I did check!!!)
Managed to get it working lovely but still need to get a remote.
P.s It looks and sounds FANTASTIC.
P.Ps we got a 40" sony w series from argos as recommended on here. Sister got a discount plus approx. £40 in nectar points off, managed to pay only £499.
    I love this site xxxx

also for those that have got these
take the itme to check the settings on the appliences you have 'feeding' the Sony unit
things like PS3's have settings that can make a big difference
eg setting the audio stream to bitstream lets the RGHT550 process the sound
makes a big difference on my set up

In the PS3's audio output settings - do you just keep it at Linear PCM 2Ch 44.1 kHz and Linear PCM 2Ch 48 kHz?

Reason I ask is that I didn't know if the stand supports 5.1Ch PCM?

i dont run this stand but give it all the channels
2 channel means you lose the benefit of the surround features
    mine can handle 7.1 PCM
i run bitstream to the amp

EDIT: just checked this does the same
    LPCM (2CH / 5.1CH / 7.1 CH) thru HDMI™
    YES / YES / YES

what are you running that you need optical plus HDMI?
HDMI carries video and audio so any source outputting over HDMI shouldnt need optical

So I should tick the other PCM formats (LPCM (2CH / 5.1CH / 7.1 CH)?
