Hypno's "no more boom or bust" diary

An alternative idea was I stayed in a posh hotel where they had super relaxing bath salts, so looked at the ingredients list, the elements were sea salt, and lavender and camomile essential oils.
So now I always have sea salt around, and the essential oils, and do it DIY. The place we're renting only has a shower, so it's a real treat if we're in a hotel and there's a nice bath.0 -
Right, as part of "operation get-a-grip", I came home and before I could get comfy on the sofa and plead exhaustion, I got changed and went for a run........just over 3 miles/5km - no idea how long it took me as I didn't have a watch or even look at the time before I left, but I didn't stop to walk, so I was very very pleased about that.
I wasn't exactly "athletic" but at least I got out and did something. I found it hard work, because it is such a long time since I did anything like that, and I am carrying a fair bit of extra weight that has somehow accumulated since the marathonbut I am glad I made the effort.
Now need to sort out something to eat and a shower.......

Hi Hypno, Not on your exercise scale but did 3 X 10 mins hard exercise slots, so at least I'm making the first baby steps.
Thanks for the incentive0 -
It was pretty gusty out there, and I could easily have put it off for yet another day, but the children "encouraged" me....well, they almost pushed me out of the door, so I didn't feel I could make any more excuses......:o
se - 3 x 10 mins is probably a lot tougher than my 3 mile plod........don't put yourself down!
I just need to get back into the routine of running - this time last year I was training for a marathon......3 miles should be a doddle!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Well done! I find it very hard once you get home after a long day and its cold & dark and the sofa calls....
But did go for a little run after work and feel so much better for it - feel I have 'earned' my sofa time. My first day running so taking it slow but got to start somewhere....0 -
Well done on getting out there - it really is an effort sometimes, isn't it!!
We live in the country, and it is very dark outside - especially when there is a new moon like we have now.......when I was doing longer milage for the marathon, I would go into town and run there just to have the benefit of street lights.......Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Yep massive effort!
Just ran around the roads here in Southampton. Not much in the way of countryside! Plenty of street lights... BF came too which was good company he is a PE teacher and quite motivating as think if I had been on my own would have stopped more and walked.0 -
