Banana and milk are said to be good for aiding sleep - as the trytophan? in it aids relaxation or something...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Know that feeling about not wanting to go out
Actually I may just not. I do have a mystery shop to do today or tomorrow-tomorrow is seeming like the better option although I'll regret not doing it today as I'm going to be up til silly o clock tonight watching the Dancing with the Stars final online
Took both Saturday and Sunday as sick days and feel a lot better for it today although yesterday I was fit for nothing. Not sure if it was delayed shock from the fall or a low level virus but I was exhausted. Hand is going back to normal size so don't seem to have done any lasting damage but missed out on a free bet as brain wasn't in any fit state to MB this weekend.
Dell still haven't taken the money for new laptop but it's showing as despatched-wish they'd hurry up and take it-I can't wait for it to arrive -supposed to be getting a call from the carrier about the final date by Thursday
DS is apparently completing all his work for college but not submitting it-grrr to the teenorge brain and the mysterious way it works. Kick up the bum will be administered when he gets home.
Rain started again -MS can wait til tomorrow
As it's not yet 4pm I think I'll have a coffee LOLI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I don't drink caffeinated coffee after 5pm, so I'm not too far out on that one - it is decaff all the way after that. I'd never thought of a banana before bedtime......
duchy, there were a few of us with non-MB brains over the weekend....shame, because there were some reasonable offers I think, that we have missed out on. However, better to miss out than to mess up!!
Mudbath, well done on the continued winning.....it will make the school trip far more bearable!!
Off to brave the post office in my lunchbreak - DD has chinese currency to change back into sterling.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Hypno et al
I am newish to MSE but have been reading with interest for a little while. Thanks for all the tips - won my first £15 on BB today! Very pleased. Hypno, love reading your diary - very inspiring, you are so determined - might even go for a run myself after work! Keep up the good work x0 -
Hi there emlofr!! and Welcome to my little piece of sanity.....or insanity - I am never sure which  Well done on the BB win - I hope it is the first of many for you!!

Thanks! I logged in not expecting to win (signed up last thurs and hadn't won a bean yet!) thought maybe I was doing it wrong - and there was £15 sat there :jFree money is the best feelin isn't it?
Hope post office not too awful & have a good afternoon0 -
The post office was horrendous - they have started (since Thursday) a new system where you touch the screen as you go in and are then allocated a number......instead of queing, you are then encouraged to "browse the displays" and wait for your number to be called a la Argos.....
Needless to say, no-one really wanted to "browse the displays", instead just giving the whole system the benefit of their right to a freedom of speech  Needless to say, the staff who were trying to be encouraging about change being a positive thing, and making mutterings about overcoming teething problems were looking slightly more harrassed than they would normally do by early Monday afternoon
Anyway, converted DD's leftover currency = £24, so worth taking them in. She is saving for an ipod, and I think this will almost take her to her target.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. our post office in town (which I use most often as really close to work) started doing the same thing about month ago, and now I just don't want to go there anymore... There also used to be a little kiosky type of counter where you could take you items, and as I usually only have 2 or 3 packets, I used to use that until they said they wouldn't do them there anymore, cos now they also have serve yourself tills like in supermarkets, which are fine unless you need a proof of postage. Basically now, you don't get any service unless you stand nicely in the queue forever!DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Yep that'll be ....(iso-)tryptophan (an amino acid) which can be turned into 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin). Seratonin is a neurotransmitter which is involved in regulation of sleep amongst other things. A lot of antidepressants work on keeping serotonin around for longer that normal thus increasing mood...
