Oh! I didn't phrase that very well...........good image, tho!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Glad you're a bit brighter this morning Hypno - no need to beat yourself up over getting a bit "down" though - considering the way the weather has been, plus everything starting to go mad in the run up to christmas, coupled with all the other stuff you have going on, it's hardly surprising if things do get on top of you a bit at times!
How about finding one evening a week when you can just set aside an hour of time for you - whether that's a soak in the bath with a good book, or a walk in the fresh air, just to do something that is purely for you and not something you "have" to do, might make all the difference?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I am going with the need to surround myself with less mess and more order - flylady is helping, but last week or so I let it go a bit, and that has contributed to my mood.......my "room a month" thing has also gone to pot as well, so I need to get back on track.
Lots of things HAVE stayed improved - the conservatory, the dining room etc, so I haven't let everything go, but I do recognise that this is one area of my life that I can do something about, and that also makes me feel a lot less stressed when it is done......so therefore I just need to get on and do it. No excuses.
So, while DD is doing her 6th form apps, I am watching a DVD and doing more ironing - another load is in the machine, and the dishwasher is on......my bed has been stripped, and clothes put away.
The sun is shining so when the house is not cluttered, it is actually bright and spacious.......I just need to work on the "spacious" bit somewhatSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Lucky you with the weather. It was lovely here first thing - got the washer going - did two loads. Five minutes ago - total deluge - all came back in wetter than it went out. Fed up? You bet. Looks like a laundry here now and so don't feel at all straight in this house today.0

hypno i'm totally there with you about the state of the house/flat reflecting the state of my mind but being the thing i can do something about. That's why i've followed your lead and joined the flylady thread. need to start blitzing today, but the laundry hokey cokey is well under way, just hope the sun stays out long enough to dry it.0

The laundry hokey cokey - love it!!
I've got another load in, and have tumbled the last load which will hopefully just need folding and putting away......
I am only bringing down 10 things to iron from upstairs at a time - the whole pile (read room for that!) is daunting, but I can cope with 10 things.....
I have also told DD that I will decorate her room next weekend if it is clean and tidy enough......hoping that she will do the necessary tidying inbetween revising for her mocks this week. I like decorating, but the place has been so cluttered that I have no chance of getting anywhere near the paintwork to do the job properly, so it has been left for far too long.
If I am to move house, the decor needs to at least be "clean" and if I am to stay here for a while longer, then I will benefit from it myself in the meantime......so it must be done, one way or another.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. It's a shame we don't all live in a DFW village!! We could help each other so much! Swapping things we don't like for things we do - would be great

When I was looking for my laptop we had a phone outage at work and one of my workmates kept finding me better deals than the one I started with. -all part of the virtual village we already live in. It's quite scary how much influence this site has had upon my life -I buy nothing without coming here first -and even my job came from a post here.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
