Without being sexist I guess your colleagues leave work and their day is done, off to the gold course or whatever. Don't know any different. Sometimes I leave work and think right on to the the proper job, where there is no clocking off time, on call 24 hours a day etc.

It is the time of year, but remember your post on my diary 1 st December is looming....

I'm here shaun, just trying to do scratchcards on this very slow laptop  Have won £1 on one, just one more to do......

OH is doing the morning ski running about for me this morning, which means I can get some more house type stuff done, then I will do the football match this afternoon. OH is working this afternoon and evening, so between us we've got things covered.

DD is doing her 6th form applications this morning. It all gets soooo serious!

Thanks for your support last night, and this morning, it means a lot. I know that I am not the only one who feels like this, especially on these boards, and I know that I have a lot to be very grateful for - my family are generally fit and healthy, and there are things others on here are going through, and have gone through in the past, that I would not wish on anyone.

So, am counting my blessings, making another coffee, and getting on with my day.

I hope you all have a good one xxx

  • Good luck to your DD with her application:js. I too have been doing the rounds of sixth forms and colleges with my DD, I find the visits more shattering then a full days work.

I started a new job 8 weeks ago. I left my nice comfy shop job to go back into an office 10 weeks ago, always worked in offices before the kids so had hankered to go back to that type of work but turned out to be telesales:mad:. I lasted a week a and a day. So now wait for it, I am working for "Molly maid" driving round the countryside cleaning for the likes of your colleagues! would I say the wives are happy, not a bit from what I have seen! But #I have to say its very hard work but very enjoyable in a sick sense:rotfl::rotfl:

Hey Hypno, you sound a *little* bit better today. Be careful of yourself, okay? I just thought of another reason you in particular might be feeling particularly bad at the mo - it could be because you've let up recently on things like having students - once we let up, the strain we've been under starts to show. Its like getting a cold on holiday, that sort of thing. Your strain is even longer term than that kind of thing usually implies - so you need to take even more care.

For me and my stuff, I have to start taking more care of what I eat, and getting more sleep - I've been feeling unbelievably low in energy, even yesterday when I was going to that seminar, at 9.30 in the morning, I felt dizzy with tiredness - I have to be fitter than that. I'm off to see my sister today (with trips round Asda and Homebase with a car, hurray!) so I'll see how that goes :D

    Scratches - hmmm..... 45p tops!
