I've not even been at a slow jog recently, Z, yet alone a 100mph run!!

    You have been flat out...

The fact you have been slowing is a sign of overwork and fatigue. Not a sign from God to whip yourself harder.

I was thinking about this today, Z - I work in a "full on" job - it is stressful, it is hard, the hours are long.......but I am the only one out of my peers who has to go home and run a house and family too.....they are all in the position where their wives don't have to work, so they can go home at the end of their long tough day without having to think about whether there is bread for tomorrow's packed lunches, what they can whip up for dinner out of the remains of last week's groceries, remembering that one child has to be in one place at the same time as the other has to be somewhere in the other direction.........

We all work flat out at the office, I am no different to any of them in that respect, yet I bet our evenings and weekends are very different.

I know I have chosen (as far as you can choose when you have a mortgage and debt) to be a working mum, but sometimes I do envy those wives of my colleagues.....with their agas, tennis lessons, and shopping and spa trips to London with their girl friends........

I know - when I say "work", I'm not just meaning the place you turn up to on a weekday morning. I mean all the rest of it as well.

I also mean the worry too.

The other side of the coin are the things you have achieved. Remember those too. "I own an Aga" is *not* an achievement.

So take stock of your achievements and *slow down* for a little while. You need to do that before your body decides to slow down for you.

Having your body slow you down is like being hit a number of times by a bat - it takes no prisoners...

They may not have had their LBM yet and be in large debt and I bet they don't have to find the money to send two children on expensive ski trips.
You will have their life one day (if that's what you want) .
We all choose to spend our money and time differently..it makes the world interesting I guess.
You are a totally dedicated mother and wife and there are very few people that could match your dedication to the needs of your children.

taxi, they are "old money" - no need to worry about grocery budgets and lbms.........kids all at private school, maternity nurses helping out with their babies.......it's a whole different game!! I'm a bit of an "odd one out" there in many respects!! The token female, the token state school education, etc lol!!

I get a decent salary for the area we live in, taxi - although an increase or two wouldn't go amiss, as for everyone :rotfl:

I certainly don't see how I could easily earn any more anywhere else in this area, so I get paid fairly I reckon.

And I wouldn't want to be working anywhere else, that much is certain!

So, I must stop complaining, stop being jealous of others, and get on with it!! I can't suddenly magic up a trust fund from Granny, or a few acres of land that I can sell to bump up the bank balance, and my paid help isn't likely to make an appearance any day soon, so flylady, ebay, and 4 expensive tins of tuna it is then :D
