I have cleared out 4 handbags and a briefcase.......one handbag has gone in the bin because the handle is likely to give up someday soon, and I have recovered enough freebie barclays pens to be able to restock my local branch should they suffer a shortage
My "in use" handbag is a little more ordered - I won't have to be embarrassed as I rummage in it looking for my bus ticket this week.
I didn't find any money, sadly, but did find a midget gem
I've gathered together another black bin bag of general "rubbish" from around the house, so that is now outside.......and one or two items of old undergarments have been banished for ever.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I was taking today off to declutter but logged into work "for an hour" which turned into half the day. Ah well in a good cause as I'm donating most of today's wages as one of our call centres is in the Philipines and many of the staff have been badly affected by the typhoon.
Christmas sking sounds fab-I nearly booked it for this Christmas and am still thinking about next.
DS turned 18 a few weeks ago. His Dad was abroad working-has now returned and Josh saw him this weekend. No sign of a birthday present. Boy am I angry.
Ah well enough moaning time to declutterI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Ahh Hugs Hypno....going away sounds good and may be something to look forward to next year x
Everyone must be thinking about christmas today as everywhere I read on here someone is mentioning something about it...LOL.
So...I have done my christmas shopping today..all from the comfort of my sofa
and Because everyone has been talking about decluttering I am going for a walk to drop stuff at the office and when I get back I'm going to do some decluttering....
You must be all sending messages to my head ...lol0 -
Hypno - that's the sort of day I've had, too! Feel like I have achieved quite a bit, and two black sacks of junk have gone out to the bins.

duchy, that is a really good thing about donating your "time". I remember after the big tsunami, we gave what we could such as a bit of change in the buckets at the supermarket etc, but it was at the absolute peak of our debt, and I was literally thinking about going bankrupt, so we had no more cash to give. Then one of the girls where OH worked asked for money for a sponsored thing in aid of the tsunami and OH had to say No, sorry - can't do. Of course, no one knew we really did have nothing at that point in time, so this particular girl started shouting the odds at OH saying how these people had lost everything etc etc etc - which did nothing to help anyone. OH was labelled as the meanest person on earth. Had there been an option to work extra and have the money sent over to help, that would have been an ideal option for us.
I guess that is one of the reasons OH does so much volunteer work, he can donate time, but not cash.
taxi, I think we have seen a definite change in the seasons this last few days - autumnal weather, leaves blowing off the trees, dark evenings and fighting against putting the heating on - makes us focus on winter a bit!!
I've started to notice that there is a bit less "stuff" in the house - about bloomin time :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Hugs for Christmas, I struggle with that time too. Mine was really naff as a child and I find it hard to get in the spirit of it.
